The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 581

Madelyn had a rough night’s sleep. She woke up a little after six. Her head throbbed as she went downstairs.” Maybe I caught a cold because I left the window open,’ she thought, noticing how chilly the mornings had become compared to the warm days.

When she was in the living room downstairs, she saw a servant cleaning the kitchen. It looked like she had just started cleaning. There was a mess on the floor with broken plates scattered around. Madelyn asked, “What happened here?

“Ms. Jent,” the servant called her before explaining, “It was probably due to a mouse last night. Mr. Jardin instructed that all the dishes in the kitchen be replaced to avoid contamination.”

Madelyn looked around and asked, Where’s Margaret?”

The servant responded, “She has been assigned to the backyard. She should be washing vegetables now. Do you need something from her? Should I call her for you?”

“It’s fine.” Madelyn smiled slightly. She then found the medicine box below the cabinet and took two headache pills.

After that, she went to open the refrigerator in the kitchen, she noticed, “What happened to those fruit juices I used to drink?”

The servant responded, “Mr. Jardin said those fruit juices contained additives and weren’t healthy. So, he replaced them all with milk. What kind of fruit juice do you want to drink? I can make a fresh one for you.”

Madelyn did not respond. She just poured a glass of warm water. She thought, ‘Now that he’s been relieved from his position, he’s so free that he takes care of these kinds of things? He sure has a lot of free time.’

At eight-thirty in the morning, Madelyn went upstairs to change into a new set of clothes. When she was having her breakfast alone, there was a book on color theory open beside her.

Just then, she heard the sound of a car outside the entrance. Madelyn turned her head to glance at it. Not long later, she saw Zach walk into the house. He was followed by Jadie and Rosario, whom she had not seen in a long time.

Madelyn’s expression was neither pleasant nor unpleasant. She expressionlessly turned her head back and continued to eat her oatmeal.

Madelyn believed bringing Rosario back to the Jent residence was Zach’s decision. She could not think of anyone else. Now that Hayson was ill, Zach controlled everything in the family. Even though Madelyn was the lady of the family, she was merely a figurehead.

She had always wanted to stay out of everything. Zach pulled a chair and sat down beside her. Jadie was supporting Rosario as she said, “Be careful.”

Madelyn’s presence seemed unneeded now that she was considered an outsider. She set her spoon down and closed her book, standing up quietly.

“You’re hardly eating. Finish before heading to your room,” Zach told her. “I don’t have any appetite,” Madelyn’s voice was cold.

Since Rosario came into the house, she couldn’t take her eyes off Madelyn. When Madelyn started to leave, Rosario quickly got up, guilt and sadness in her eyes. Even though Rosario was sick and had spent a long time in the hospital,

Madelyn found it hard to feel sorry for her. Although Madelyn would never forgive her, she still wanted to come back to the Jent residence to atone for her actions. Madelyn remembered the deep hurt of betrayal by someone she had trusted.

The pain was sharp when she thought about how Rosario had poisoned her for years, making it impossible for her to have kids. ‘How could I ever forgive that?’ she thought.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
