The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 577 by Max Charming

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 577

Zach opened the front passenger door and saw that Madelyn was still standing still. She asked, “Where are the others? Why are you the only one here?” Madelyn hesitated and did not want to get into the car.

Zach responded, “Any Jent family’s affairs aren’t to be taken lightly. The news that Father is seriously ill can’t be leaked out to the public at all. Don’t expect any outsiders to come.

“Why are you so afraid that I’ll harm you?”

His gaze was invasive and showed a strong sense of possessiveness. Madelyn took a step back. No matter how she looked at the situation, she felt that Zach was inviting her to walk right into his trap.

After the engagement banquet, Madelyn had not seen Zach. Although he had been relieved of his position, he still looked extremely calm.

“Don’t waste time. Get in the car!” Zach’s attitude changed very quickly. He squinted to warn her. Madelyn was cautious of him, but she still got into the car in the end.

Zach walked toward her. She knew about his intentions. She took a step ahead and fastened her seatbelt, “I can do it myself.”

He had a mysterious smile as he lifted a strand of her hair with his finger, “You got a haircut?” Madelyn pretended to be calm and looked away. She casually replied, “It was too long, so I had it cut.”

Actually, she did not have her hair cut much. Only the ends of her hair had been cut as they had been a little dry and damaged due to the weather. She was surprised that Zach paid so close attention to it. The more he reacted this way, the more uneasy Madelyn felt.

“Don’t cut it again,” he said as he tugged her hair behind her ear. Madelyn moved his hand away, “You’re being a bit too controlling. This is my own hair. You should start driving.”

“Sure.” Zach smiled. He glanced at the silver-white ring on her slender, fair hand. His gaze was extremely intense. He suppressed his emotions and quickly left the airport by driving his car.

There were not many people going and leaving the airport. Madelyn still had not adjusted to the time difference in Ventropolis yet. She was still feeling wide awake throughout the journey. She watched the trees as the car moved forward quickly. She suddenly said, Father has always emphasized good health. He doesn’t smoke or drink. How did he fall so ill?”

Zach asked, “Are you suspecting me?”

Madelyn responded, “Zach, you don’t need to beat around the bush with me. I know you’re behind this, but I’ve never understood why. He’s already passed the Azure Corporation to you long ago, so why won’t you spare him? He values you more than me. I can’t think of any other reason for you to hurt him.”

She thought, ‘In this lifetime, Jadie is still alive. If in the previous life, Jadie’s death was the reason for Zach going against the Jent family, what about this time?

‘Jadie is clearly doing well, and I changed both Ethan’s and Jadie’s fates. Logically, there’s no reason for Zach to act this way.’

She had not understood it in her previous life. and even in this life, still did not understand why Zach would do all of this.

He drove the car into a secluded side road. There were no surveillance cameras. It was hidden perfectly in the shadows too. Even oncoming vehicles with their high beams on would not easily spot them. He stopped the car and said, “Madelyn, don’t you understand yet?

“If I said I did all of this for you…”

Upon hearing that, Madelyn could not help but find it absurd. She almost wanted to laugh as she scoffed, “You don’t need to say these sweet nothings to me. You’ve never done anything for anyone except yourself. Do you really think I’d believe what you’re saying? I don’t need you to do anything for me now. You have Jadie and Yvonne…”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
