The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 576 by Max Charming

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 576

It had been the very same night that Madelyn and Zach were supposed to get married. The traffic was quite heavy. An hour and a half later, Dorian dropped her off at the airport and left.

Madelyn did not have to wait long at the airport before boarding the plane early. The flight to Ventropolis would take more than eight hours, so she would likely arrive at the hospital by around nine at night. Meanwhile, Zach received the news of Madelyn’s flight back to the country.

At the SereneCare Hospital, Hayson was in a coma on the hospital bed wearing an oxygen mask. His heart rate was normal, but there was no sign of him regaining consciousness.

He was staying in the exclusive VIP ward, and the doctor in charge of his treatment was Kai. Zach and Kai seemed to share an unspoken understanding as Kai calmly explained Hayson’s current condition.

When Kai was writing the report, he said mockingly without looking up, You really did it just to make her come back. You’ll do whatever needs to be done to get what you want. I’ve really underestimated you.”

Zach asked, “How long will it take for him to wake up?” Kai smiled as he put down his pen. He crossed his legs as he said, “That depends on you. What do you want him to become? After all, I owe you a favor.”

Zach turned to the side. His gaze was mysterious as he sized Kai up. He then smiled as he said, “You always help me whenever I need your help with my affairs. It seems like my plans against the Jent family play right into your hands. Are you actually trying to go against the Jent family through my actions?

“But from what I know, the Jent family had no dealings with you before.” They were both testing each other. Both of them were very cunning men. They were trying to outsmart one another.

They both had something to use against each other. From another perspective, Kai and Zach indeed relied on each other for mutual benefits.

Kai’s gaze looked strange as he said, ” Tsk, don’t give me that look. I’m not Madelyn.” He then walked to Zach’s side and looked at the view outside the floor-to-ceiling window. He continued saying, “This isn’t a debt I owe you. After I settle the scores, it won’t be that easy for you to ask me for help next time.

“Whether there are any grudges or not, you just need to remember that as long as you want to destroy the Jent family, I’ll always be on your side. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have studied medicine for so many years. No matter what the reason is, even if you investigate, you won’t find anything. It’s been so many years. Everything has long been destroyed without any trace by him.”

Kai thought, ‘I’ve promised her that I wouldn’t do anything to the Jent family, but I didn’t promise that I wouldn’t use others’ help. This is the karma Hayson planted by himself.’

Kai continued saying, “He should wake up in about two days. The previous medications weren’t lethal, but there might be signs of a stroke when he wakes up.

“To maintain his current condition, he has to be fed the medicine every three days. Overdosing has toxic effects. If he dies too quickly, it won’t be fun.”

He thought, ‘A quick death would be too easy for him, that bastard.’ It was almost nine at night when Madelyn got off the plane. She had left in a hurry earlier and forgot to tell Ethan.

He still did not know that she was returning to Ventropolis. After thinking about it, Madelyn decided to give him a surprise.

After she walked out of the airport’s main entrance, among the people who were arriving and departing the airport, she immediately saw Zach’s figure and realized that he was staring at her.

Madelyn felt as if a predator was watching her. Indeed, she knew that returning to the country was like walking right into a trap, but she had no choice. Hayson was her father, and he was sick, so she had to come back.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
