The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 502

Everyone was stuck in their own thoughts throughout the meal. Evelyn. left the feast early after eating a bit. Ethan had drunk a lot of alcohol with Hayson.

Since Madelyn accepted the gift, she felt suffocated. She did not know why she was not as happy as she had expected. She still could not figure out the reason behind it. Maybe… she had been too hasty with this decision. Jadie put down her cutlery and said, ” I’m full, Zach.”

Zach took her bowl and poured some soup into it before saying, “Drink some soup to avoid getting hungry again at night.”

Jadie nodded, “Okay.” Madelyn sat not far away from them. A hand holding a bowl of soup stretched before her, “The soup is good. Try it.”

Madelyn raised her head and looked at Zach. Her heart started racing as she thanked him, “Thank you… brother.”

“Mhm,” Zach smiled, but Madelyn could see the rage in his eyes. This made her anxious. Perhaps Ethan was in a good mood; he proceeded to hug Madelyn. He then declared his ownership over her, “This soup is sweet; she doesn’t like sweet soups. How can you not know this?”

With just a sentence, the smell of conflict started to emanate. “Ethan, you’ve had too much to drink. Let me help you to your room so you can rest, okay?” Madelyn asked.

Zach was a dark, selfish, and vengeful man. He was most adept at using underhanded tactics. He had planned for the downfall of the Arnold family in her past life. Hence, he was able to gain complete control of the Arnold Corporation.

Although Madelyn did not know how he did it, she did not want that tragedy to happen again. She was sure Zach had planned the truck incident that almost caused their accident. Even though he was not as powerful as the Arnold family, he could still easily bring them down regardless of their position.

Zach said indifferently, “Really? It seems Madelyn hasn’t been home for quite some time. I’ve almost forgotten what she likes to eat.”

“Logically speaking, Madelyn should call you her brother, and I should call you my brother, too. However, since you’re not a Jent, I see no need for that. Though, I will drink a toast to your long -standing relationship with Madelyn,” Ethan said.

Ethan signaled the servant by his side, and they instantly poured a cup to Zach. Jadie held Zach’s arm worriedly and advised him, “Zach, you can’t drink since you still need to drive.”

Hayson saw what Jadie did and furrowed his brows. In the end, he did not say anything. Ethan continued, It’s just a glass. If Mr. Jardin can’t stomach his alcohol, we have chauffeurs at the Arnold residence. They can send you home. You can even stay for the night.”

Their gazes met, and the sense of conflict grew stronger. Madelyn swiftly stood up and said, “Ethan, you can’t drink anymore. Did you forget about what the doctor said? Your injuries have yet to heal. I’ll get worried if it gets infected again.”

Ethan turned to Madelyn and stared at her. His gaze was drunken yet full of love. He smiled and replied, “Alright, as you wish.

“There is another matter; it’s about the clauses offered regarding the merger between the Arnold Corporation and the Azure Corporation. I think Mr.

Jardin would best consider it since not just any company is worthy of working with the Arnold Corporation!” Ethan added.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
