The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 496

The makeup artist asked, “Miss Jent, do you have any specific makeup you want?” “Makeup?” Madelyn looked surprised.

“Yeah, it’s for your engagement. We’re trying out your makeup look.”

“I see.” Madelyn looked down, lost in thought. The makeup artist explained, “So, we’re going to try out your whole look, including your hairstyle, for your engagement. If you don’t like something, we can change it.”

“Okay.” Madelyn’s skin was already flawless, so she didn’t need much foundation. Her soft features and creamy skin had a special charm. She had a natural beauty that could wow anyone, like a beautiful rose, both attractive and elegant. Her body, style, and clothes made her stand out easily. It was clear that as she got older, she would make a lot of guys go wild.

It took two whole hours for styling and makeup, and by the end, Madelyn was almost falling asleep. “Miss Jent, you can take a look now. Do you like it?”

“It’s alright. What do you all think?”

Both the stylists and makeup artists stared at Madelyn in amazement. The Arnolds were all about tradition, and Ethan had personally chosen her outfit – a white dress covered in glass beads, a pearl hair accessory. Her long hair

had been styled into beautiful wavy curls that flowed down her back. Her every move and smile were enchanting. In the world of showbiz in Venturia, no star could match her beauty. If she ever went into entertainment, she’d definitely be a top celebrity.

“You look stunning! Miss Jent, I’ve worked with lots of famous people and models, but none have amazed me as much as you. You should show Mr. Arnold; he’ll love it for sure.”

Madelyn had never really thought of herself as super pretty. When she walked out, she saw Ethan talking to Evelyn and George. When they noticed her coming, the room got quiet, and everyone stared at her.

Ethan’s eyes lit up with amazement. Evelyn looked at them and teased, 11 Yep, not bad at all. My grandson’s got good taste.” Madelyn smiled and said, “Thanks, Evelyn.”

Ethan didn’t hide how much he liked it. He held her hand and kissed it. “No matter how you look in the future, I’ll always love you.” Hearing that in front of so many people, Madelyn’s cheeks got warm, and she looked down shyly.

Evelyn said, “I think this dress is really nice. Let’s go with it and not make a big deal out of it. Madelyn doesn’t get many weekends off. I’ll host a dinner tonight and invite our future in-laws to talk about the wedding plans.”

“What do you think, Madelyn?” Ethan asked. Madelyn nodded and said, “Sounds good.”

After Evelyn left, the dress designer measured Madelyn’s sizes again and helped her change into a different dress. When she went over to Ethan, the wedding company manager and Ethan were looking through catalogs.

“These are all the newest designs from our bridal designers, not even out yet. Normally, making a wedding dress takes longer. If you’re in a hurry, Mr. Arnold, you can take Miss Jent to our company to pick one in person.”

Ethan looked up, holding Madelyn’s hand. “Let’s see if there’s something you like.”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
