The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 492

Ethan’s decision to have Donna arrested happened quickly. Donna put up a big fight as the police took her away, screaming and struggling with the officers. But despite her efforts, Donna couldn’t escape. They handcuffed her and took her straight to the police station. Leyton got back to Ethan within an hour.

Arnold Corporation soon released an official statement: [Regarding Donna Jolie’s statements in today’s live broadcast, our investigation has confirmed them to be untrue. We ask everyone to be cautious.

Any further attempts to spread false information about Arnold Corporation will face legal action, and those responsible will be held accountable for any harm caused to the company. Legal steps have already been taken in response to today’s false claims against Arnold Corporation’s CEO.]

The statement also announced the engagement of Ethan Arnold, the CEO of Arnold Corporation, to Madelyn Jent, the daughter of the Jent family. Their engagement party was set for June 12th at the Supreme World.

This official statement calmed things down quickly, and people had various reactions. Some folks were suspicious, thinking there might be more to the story.

Madelyn spent the whole day in the school art studio. She was the last to hear about the news and didn’t expect so much to happen on this particular day.

In the car, Ethan asked her, “What do you want to eat tonight? Should we go to ‘The Deli’ or have some Jonirian food?”

“Let’s eat at home. I need to study tonight,” Madelyn replied. Ethan noticed Madelyn’s low spirits and reached over to pull her closer. He ran his fingers through her hair and, with a slight tilt of his head and a faint smile, asked, “What’s wrong? Not feeling happy?”

Madelyn gazed out of the car window without looking at him. “I saw that statement. Why don’t you tell the truth?

“Just for that?” Ethan smiled faintly, his true feelings hidden deep in his eyes. He said, “To avoid unnecessary trouble. Those things are in the past, and there’s no point in bringing them up again. Plus, I don’t want it to affect your mood, especially with exams coming up. Focus on your studies for the next two months. Whether you pass or not, I respect your choice.”

Madelyn asked, “Just because of that?” ‘He could clear up everything about Donna with just one sentence. How can he act like nothing happened?’ This version of Ethan suddenly felt like a stranger to her.

Ethan gently brushed his finger against her nose. “What else could it be?” He took a deep breath, thinking. “Don’t overthink it, okay?”

“If you want to go home, let’s go home. Besides, I’ve recently learned a few new dishes. I can make something for you to try,” Madelyn said, her earlier concerns replaced by curiosity.

“When did you learn to cook?” she asked. “It’s been a while,” Ethan replied. “Is there anything specific you’d like to eat?”

“I’m good with anything. I’ll help you later,” Madelyn offered. Ethan smiled and nodded, “Alright.”

Back at the Arnold residence, they both got to work on preparing dinner. Ethan was wearing a cute lace apron, a far cry from his usual appearance.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
