The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 467 by Max Charming

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 467

Lana swiftly left the hotel. She stopped a cab on the road and gave him an address. The cab
driver’s gaze from the rearview mirror made Lana uncomfortable.

She took a compact mirror, pulled her collar down, and saw a red mark. Her eyebrows
furrowed while her heart started to race. She quickly covered it with foundation. She applied
quite a few layers on them until they were visibly covered.

She did not believe what Kai had said. She simply could not believe Andrew would send her to
that bastard’s bed. Last night, she ran out after a quarrel with her husband about having a
child. She had a few drinks with her friends at a bar and suddenly fainted while going to the
bathroom.

Although Lana was not from an elite family, her parents were intellectuals. Their education of
her was strict, so she had never been to such a place before. Hence, she might have gotten
drunk. When she woke up, she was at the hotel and lying in the same bed with Kai. Both of
them were naked. She felt guilty as she was the one who betrayed Andrew. After returning
home, she did not know how to face him.

Once Lana got home, a servant greeted her, “Madam.”
Lana responded and asked, “Where’s Andrew? Is he still sleeping?”

The servant nodded her head and answered, “After you had a row with Mr. Stewart last night,
he had not slept a wink and waited for you in the room.”

Lana was surprised, and the guilt in her heart grew stronger. Lana quickly went upstairs and
saw the tight–shut door. Her heart felt like it was being stabbed a thousand times. She did not
know what she should do to repent for her mistake.

Lana knocked on the door before walking in nervously. None of the lights were turned on,
save for the two nightlights. Their wedding photo hung on the headboard of the bed. When
she saw the photo, Lana felt like her heart had sunk. She walked over carefully.

Andrew was still wearing the same clothes as yesterday. He sat in his wheelchair while facing
outside. She still had no idea what to say until a soft voice rang, “I called you.”
Lana felt her heart skip a beat and replied, “My phone ran out of battery.”

She walked over and knelt before him. She then apologized, “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have fought
with you. It’s my fault. Let’s not divorce, okay? Even if we can’t make a child, we can adopt
one that belongs to us…”

“What’s the point of holding onto a half–paralyzed man? If you’re worried about the property, I
can leave everything to your name,” Andrew said.

“I don’t want that!” Lana’s eyes immediately turned red, “I just want to be with you. You’re the
only one I’ve ever loved, regardless of what you’ve become. When I married you, I didn’t
marry you for your money, Andrew. Please don’t leave me, okay?

“I just want to stay by your side. I’ve never looked down on who you are,” Lana promised him.
Andrew hung his head. His eyes were cold, and burnt marks ran through the left half of his
face. He looked totally different from his gentle look in the wedding photo.

Andrew was one of her mother’s students. His studies and attitude were excellent. Every time
her mother talked about him, her mother’s eyes would light up with admiration. He was truly
outstanding and out of reach. It was also her mother’s intention to have them be together.

On the day of their marriage, they met with a fire at the hotel they were staying for their
honeymoon. Andrew thought she was stuck in the room, so he threw himself into the fire to
save her.

When the firefighters found him, he was crushed beneath a wall, and half his face
was burnt off. He was hanging on his last breath, and the doctor said he might stay
vegetative.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
