The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 456 by Max Charming

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 456

So, no matter how well Ethan did or how outstanding he was, his father would never see it. He
had never received any recognition or appreciation from him either. Ethan grew up in an incomplete family.

He then became completely rebellious. He would drink, smoke, get tattoos, and stay out all
night. He eventually became a rogue and a school bully that no one dared to mess with.
At some point, someone took revenge and almost beat him to death on the street.

He was covered in blood and almost died. It was at that time that he met Donna. She stayed with him
one year after another. At that time, Ethan only had her by his side. He was the one who proposed that they get into a relationship. Perhaps it was driven by his youthful recklessness and a moment of indulgence.

He did not know what it meant to like someone at that time. He thought not wanting to lose
someone meant the same as liking them…
When he found out that Donna was going to leave him back then, he almost sacrificed his life
trying to keep her. He thought that was love.

But he only knew now that he was just unwilling to lose her. He was unwilling to see the
people around him leave him one by one.

As a result, he almost ended his life. He indeed wanted to die. He thought if he could not keep
the people around him when he was alive, he wanted to just die with them. His family was broken. And even the only person who cared about him at that time wanted to leave him.

He felt as if the whole world was abandoning him… He wanted to be free from his sufferings.
Unexpectedly, the car accident did not kill him.
Then, he met Madelyn. She was like a beam of light to him. She became his only reason to
live. Ethan only chose to step out of his darkness because of her.

Ethan thought, ‘I’ve never forgotten the reason I’ve done all these back then!‘
Donna did not take it seriously. She casually glanced at him, “Stop joking. You can’t live
without me. You didn’t even mind losing your life for me. Do you think I’ll believe in what you
just said?”

Ethan ignored her words. He coldly said, “I’ve already paid off all the high–interest loans you
borrowed. I’ve also taken care of all the problems with your father. From now on, he won’t hurt
you anymore. Donna, no one will live in the past forever. You lost your so–called bet with my
grandmother when you decided to do that.

“As a token of our past relationship, I’ll give you some money so you can live the rest of your
life worry–free.”
Donna could not believe what she had just heard. She was calm and confident before that.
She suddenly panicked and got agitated. She clutched Ethan’s and said, “Are you lying to
me? What you said were all lies, right?

Ethan… You do know I love you! If it weren’t for your
grandmother, I wouldn’t have been tempted to leave you back then. I just wanted to be with
you openly. Now that I’m back, we can surely go back to how things used to be.”
Ethan said quietly, “Some things can’t be changed once they’ve happened, including that car accident.”

When Madelyn left him, he admitted that he still had not moved on from Donna.
But he did not have feelings for Donna!

Perhaps he had never actually fallen for her. He could not let her go simply because he was
unwilling to lose anyone around him. That was why he did everything to keep her with him.
However, it was different with Madelyn.

Ethan felt a sense of security he had never experienced before when he was with her. He could always calm down with her, even when he had intense emotions. To him, that feeling was very warm.

Donna asked desperately, “Why did you help me then? Why did you bring me back to your
side? Did that old hag threaten you again? Don’t worry, no matter what she does this time, I won’t leave you. You said you wanted  me by your side forever.

I’m back now… In the future, no one can stop us from being together again.”
Ethan firmly said, “We won’t have any future. I’ve done enough for you.”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
