The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 443 by Max Charming

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 443

Zach forced Madelyn into the chair and took a bite with the fork “See? There’s no poison.”
Madelyn could not understand his actions. ‘Isn’t he eager for my demise? Why’s he bothering
with my well-being now? He took away my snacks but served me a meal. He’s never done
these things.’

Perhaps due to excessive hunger, Madelyn had no appetite at all. Her stomach churned, and
she felt a wave of nausea and was about to throw up. Madelyn clutched her clothes tightly,
remained expressionless, and looked at the used fork. Even without poison, she refused to
eat anything Zach brought. It was hard for her to believe he was being so kind.

“I-I’m not hungry.” Madelyn stood up, attempting to escape. However, Zach behind her
pressed down on her shoulder, forcing her to sit.
“Do you want me to feed you myself?” Zach asked.

“No,” Madelyn rejected without hesitation. Then, she reached for a tissue from the side with a
trembling hand and slowly wiped the fork. Zach watched her with a darkened expression.
Madelyn ate slowly, and Zach took a comb from the bathroom.

He gently untangled her hair, which still carried a hint of sweet strawberry fragrance from the previous day’s washing. Madelyn remained still, feeling out of place in her room and unsure what to do. She ate about half of the meal, finishing all the chicken soup, but she barely touched the other dishes.

“I’m done. I’m going to wash my face,” Madelyn said.
Zach’s actions did not cease. He seemed almost addicted, combing her hair over and over.
“Finish your meal.”
“I really can’t eat anymore.”

“You have to finish it even if you can’t.” Zach raised his eyes and saw Madelyn in the mirror.
She barely managed to hide the disgust on her face.

After untangling her hair, Zach took a purple hairband from the drawer beside her and tied her
hair. This hairband was a birthday gift he had brought back for Madelyn from Marisburg. She
had never used it because she cherished it.

Madelyn could not bear it any longer and stood up. “What are you trying to do?”

As soon as the words left her mouth, she regretted them. With Hayson absent, provoking him
would only lead to trouble. Suppressing her irritation, Madelyn spoke calmly, “Thank you for
the meal today. I’m full. You can continue with your business. You don’t need to bother about me.”

Staring at the unfamiliar distance in her eyes, Zach fixed his gaze. “Go downstairs for a walk
after your meal. Don’t stay in your room all day ”
“I got it.” Her response was subtly telling him that he did not need to meddle in her affairs
Madelyn turned and walked into the bathroom, closing the door behind her.

Her untied hair fell
loosely around her shoulders and her reflection in the bathroom mirror showed the weariness
in her eyes. She pulled off the hairband, and her waterfall – like black hair cascaded down.
She absentmindedly tossed the hairband into the sink, then sat on the toilet seat, trying to
prevent herself from overthinking

Today was Monday, and she should have been at school. Whether it was Halley, Albert, or her
former class teacher from Class Six, they all had high expectations for her. However, she was
hiding here like a turtle now, cutting off all connections with the
outside world.

Madelyn did not know if Zach had left or how long she had been sitting in the bathroom.
However, all she wanted at that moment was never to step out of that door again.
‘God witnessed my past life’s misery and gave me a second chance for a better life, but I find
myself reliving that same torment all over again.

I desperately want to change everything, but it just remains the same. I can’t avoid Zach’s retaliation, so what’s the point of me even having a second life?”

Madelyn thought that she would be able to break away from her original path through all her
efforts. However, she realized the inevitable would still happen, no matter how hard she tried.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
