The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 436

“You’ve really come into your own, haven’t you?” Zach stood Madelyn averted her eyes in panic and refused to look at the thing between Zach’s legs. “Put your clothes on and get out.”

Zach casually picked up the bedsheet from the floor and wrapped it around his lower body,
revealing his perfectly toned upper body with six-pack abs. Then, he silently headed for the
living room, surprising Madelyn with how easygoing he was today.

Madelyn quickly got out of bed and closed the door. Then, she went to her closet to put on her
clothes. The sleeping pill she had taken made her almost forget how Zach had ended up in
her bed.

“This room has poor sound insulation.’
Suddenly, Madelyn recalled something. After getting dressed, she walked to the living room to
continue working on the unfinished painting. A few days ago, she had seen a notification about
an art competition and decided to enter. Today was the deadline for submitting the draft, and
the organizers would send someone to collect it at 7 pm.

‘There’s only an hour and a half left.”
Zach answered the phone by the windowsill. Madelyn had no time to pay him any attention.
She had not eaten anything all day, so she grabbed a piece of toast from the side.

“The painting’s almost complete.’ Fortunately, she managed to finish it with less than half an
hour to spare. The smoke from outside wafted in through the window.

However, little did Madelyn know that Zach had been staring at her painting the entire time. He did not understand art but even he could tell this painting was full of sunlight and hope.

Madelyn heard a knock on the door, thinking it must be someone from the organizers. She
quickly dried and rolled up her painting, then opened the door. However, she only found Kevin
holding a paper bag there.

Kevin did not seem surprised to see her. “Ms. Jent.”
Madelyn asked, “What are you here for?”
“I’m here to deliver clothes to Mr. Jardin,” Kevin answered.
Madelyn extended her hand. “He’s not available. Give them to me.”

Zach’s eyebrow raised slightly, and Kevin was surprised, wondering, ‘When did their
relationship…”
However, Kevin realized he was overthinking it. Madelyn took the clothes and casually threw
them out of the third-floor window.
Kevin widened his eyes, “You…”

Madelyn said nothing. She picked up the keys hanging by the door and left with the painting in
hand. “They can take their time finding the clothes.’

Coincidentally, Zach walked out. Kevin stared at the half-naked man in disbelief. ‘Hasn’t Mr.
Jardin always disliked Ms. Jent? Why would he be involved with her intimately?”
“Where are the clothes?” Zach asked.
“Ms. Jent threw them away. I’m going to find them now.”

Zach watched as Madelyn held her painting and disappeared down the hallway, and his gaze
became more contemplative.
Madelyn got downstairs and immediately ran into a man wearing a SkyTech uniform.

She stopped him and asked, only to find. out he was one of the organizers’ staff members.
The staff member handed her a registration form for the competition. After filling it out,
Madelyn saw Kevin rush downstairs, presumably to retrieve the clothes.

It was a petty act of revenge, but it improved her mood considerably. After that, Madelyn decided to take a walk nearby, but she was unsure where to go.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
