The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 417 by Max Charming

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 417

The night breeze rustled the heavy curtains as Madelyn emerged from the bathroom, towel-drying her hair. She walked to the bedside table, wanting to charge her phone. Its screen was marred by a crack. It had been working perfectly fine during the day, but now it was constantly disconnecting while she tried to charge it.

Suddenly, the phone vibrated, and Zach’s number appeared on the screen, causing Madelyn’s heart to skip a beat. She didn’t answer but watched as the call ended automatically. She thought he might give up, but he immediately sent several messages.

[I know you’re not asleep this early.]

[You’re being naughty again.]

[Answer the phone, or I’ll come to the Arnold residence myself.]

Madelyn held her breath, and her heart raced. Soon, she received a video clip. It was a steamy, intimate video of them in his car.

He messaged again, [You wouldn’t want this to be seen by others, would you?]

Madelyn felt a shiver run down her spine. She had no idea when he had taken that video. Her phone vibrated again. It was Zach calling again.

Madelyn waited until it was about to disconnect and finally answered the phone. She tried to speak calmly, ” What do you want?”

She heard the sound of running water and Zach’s heavy breathing on the other end.Little did she know, Zach was lying in a cold bathtub, using the icy water to extinguish the desire burning within him. In the turbulent waters, he held at firm grip on his manhood, causing ripples in the water.

He replied, “I’ve sent you a text. Read it to me.”

Madelyn saw the text and blushed. Despite it being a poem from old literature, Madelyn knew exactly what scene it was describing, making her cheeks turn crimson. “You freaking pervert! You’re going too far.”

She wasn’t foolish; she knew what Zach was doing. “Are you trying to defy me? You know I’m capable of anything. Don’t think that just because you’re at the Arnold residence, I can’t get to you! Donna Jolie is back; how long do y you can hide? Huh?” think you Madelyn felt a sharp pain in her heart.”

So, he knows everything.”

Zach remained silent for a dozen seconds before urging, “Read it now!”

Madelyn’s heart skipped a beat, and she bit her lip. She slowly began to read the poem aloud, her voice trembling slightly as she did,

[In yon chamber, by passion’s sweetest grace, Where love’s birds upon quilts find their rightful place, A tale of ardent longing doth now unfold, In poses of desire, their story’s told.

Her skin doth glow with allure’s gentle grace, While his manhood doth share secrets, none can trace. In stolen moments of fervent, fervid delight.

Her tongue, like a parrot, seeks desire’s height…]

Madelyn’s voice created a soft melody that reached deep into Zach’s heart. As she read, she couldn’t help but be embarrassed at the sound of Zach’s heavy breathing on the other end of the line. She wished she could cover her ears and block it out.

Half an hour passed, and it wasn’t until he let out a groan that Madelyn had finished reading. She felt a deep sense of shame as she quickly hung up the phone. In the late hours of the night, another call came through, but Madelyn didn’t answer.

She found it strange, thinking, ‘I’ve clearly blocked Zach’s number, so how is he still able to call me from the blocked list?’ Lost in thought, she eventually drifted off to sleep.

At six-thirty, her alarm clock went off, and Madelyn groggily woke up. When she went downstairs, the servants had already prepared breakfast.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
