The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 404

Ethan glanced at his phone before. declining the call without hesitation. He then blocked the number. He coldly said, “Just ignore any matter regarding her from now on.” Leyton nodded, “Got it.” He thought, ‘ That’s right. Ms. Jent is so much better than Donna.’

Donna made countless phone calls. She was sure that Ethan had blocked her number. However, she still believed that he would come to her if something happened to her. Donna thought about something and called a nurse over. She handed her a phone number and said, “Do as I say.”

The nurse stared at Donna. After she dialed the number, the call was disconnected within half a minute. She said, “The phone number doesn’t exist.

“Impossible!” Donna stomped her foot. She then pressed the number on her phone and checked it before dialing it again. She could hear, “The number you’ve dialed doesn’t exist. Please verify the number and try again.”

Donna cursed, “Damn it!” She then quickly dialed another number in her phone contact. It was a virtual phone number. It was unanswered, too. She had forgotten that Ethan would only contact her when something important happened.

Donna was so angry that she felt like smashing her phone. For some reason, the school had decided to let everyone finish school before eight-thirty at night. Even the night self-study sessions had to end an hour earlier.

After the Math Olympiad training class, Madelyn, Jadie, and Mya walked together. They ran into students from other classes who had also just finished school.

“The person in front is Madelyn, right?! I’m so jealous of her. The school actually let everyone end school earlier just because of her.”

“Right! Yesterday, she went missing. Ethan spent the whole night looking for her and caused quite a stir. I was at a karaoke last night, and I got frightened by what happened. I thought they came to catch some suspect. Now, because of her, the school allows everyone to leave an hour early. If I had a powerful boyfriend in Ventropolis who slept by my side every day, I’d be willing to give up ten years of my life.”

“The whole Ventropolis is currently under the control of the Arnold family. If Madelyn really marries into the Arnold family in the future… damn. She can just do whatever she wants!” A girl next to the two talking people patted their shoulders and said, “Stop talking about it. She’s looking this way.

Jadie glanced at Madelyn. She had an indescribable feeling. She was not sure if it was jealousy. She was lost in her thoughts, ‘In the past, Madelyn was worse than me in every aspect. She was a bully, and she acted recklessly. Apart from being good-looking, her character was bad.

‘But she’s changed. She’s become more outstanding than me. She’s more likable now. She’s so charming that she can capture everyone’s attention even if she does nothing.

‘Madelyn is still in high school. And yet, she’s already found someone who loves her so much. She was born better than ordinary people. And now, she continues to be in a position that most people could not achieve.’

Jadie also believed that Zach, who initially did not like Madelyn, had feelings for Madelyn now. The scene of Zach kissing Madelyn that night kept replaying in Jadie’s mind.

After being with Zach for a long time, Jadie could tell that Zach did not like her. She was willing to do those things that Zach forced Madelyn to do and lose her virginity. After so long, Zach had never touched Jadie apart from the drowning incident.

Jadie did not find it surprising that Madelyn stopped liking Zach after she got together with Ethan. She believed that everyone would think Ethan was the best choice…

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
