The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 346

Adrian tried to count, but there were too many things to fit on one hand. He realized that Madelyn and Forrest had done so many things together.

Madelyn looked at Adrian as if she understood something. “Isn’t it normal for friends to do things like this, like eat together and go shopping? Didn’t you and Jadie do the same things?”

Madelyn did not know he was the one who had saved her at the fishing village back then. So, when Forrest had asked her to tutor him, she said no because of how Forrest treated her. For two years in high school, Forrest had been mean to her, and his bullying had caused her classmates in Class Six to isolate her. That was why she tended to be aloof and preferred to be alone, not really interacting with others.

Her relationship with Forrest had improved from what it once was, and to outsiders, they seemed to get along well, but people forgot the terrible things Forrest had done to her over the past two years. When Forrest grabbed her by the neck and accused her of hurting Jadie, Madelyn realized how much Forrest cared for Jadie. At that moment, Madelyn wondered if Forrest might have actually strangled her if she had admitted to it.

Madelyn could not figure it out. ‘Did Adrian just imply that Forrest likes me? Or that I like Forrest? Either way, absurd.’ it’s Forrest and Jadie had gone to the Portsmouth Fishing Village together. When Jadie first transferred to their school, the whole high school had known about their relationship.

She tilted her head, looking confused, and stared at Adrian. “Hasn’t Forrest always had a crush on Jadie? Why are you talking about me? I only helped him because he saved my life. I told him it has nothing to do with feelings.” Madelyn did not get what Adrian meant.

“Hmph!” Madelyn heard a clear laugh that sounded like it came from Forrest. Adrian turned and saw Forrest punch a brick wall really hard. There was a little blood in the cracks from his hand.

Adrian looked at Forrest’s hand, where he could see the bleeding knuckles. He thought, ‘Wow, he punched so hard. He doesn’t care about hurting his hand!’

Madelyn watched Forrest walk by. She noticed the blood on his hand and how he looked really mad, like he wanted to be left alone. Timothy walked by slowly, and Adrian shook his head. “You’re done for.”

‘What does he mean by “done for”?” Madelyn wondered. ‘Did he find out about Jadie and Zach being together?’

Madelyn did not know what to do. She picked up her backpack and went to the library, just wanting to sit and read quietly. When she left the classroom, she saw Jadie’s notes on the desk. They had everything you needed to know and were easy to read. She thought Forrest might find them helpful.

Class Two was right next to Class One, and students sat in order of their grades. Forrest still sat in the very back. Timothy and Adrian had come over to play with him lots of times. A girl pulled out some medicine and a bandage from her desk–she was part of the school’s First Aid Team. “Forrest, your hand’s hurt. Let me bandage it.”

“Go away!” Forrest snapped. The girl persisted. “You need to stop the bleeding, or it could get infected.”

“I said go away, can’t you understand?”

Forrest suddenly stood up and kicked his chair away. He looked so angry that the girl started to cry. She did not say anything else and quickly ran out of the classroom.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
