The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 345 by Max Charming

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning By Max Charming chapter 345

If it was a materialistic sugar daddy relationship, it would have to be kept hidden. Yet, Madelyn was not only open about it, but now the newspapers were even reporting that Arnold Corporation and Azure Corporation had reached several major business deals. This meant that, having benefited from his daughter Madelyn’s involvement, Hayson had fully gained the favor of the Arnold family. Naturally, in front of Madelyn, no one dared to say anything unless they wanted trouble.

For some reason, Yvonne had not been to school for a long time, yet she still held a spot in the Math Olympiad training class.

As the exam time approached, Madelyn passed the time by reading a novel in Etlinish. Her tutor had mentioned that reading could help increase her knowledge. She used to struggle to even begin a novel, but now she could understand most of it. It was lunchtime, and Madelyn was eating her prepared lunch when Jadie came over, carrying a book in her arms.

“How’ve you been lately, Madelyn? Last time Zach and I went to the hospital to see you, the doctor said you’d left. We planned to visit you at the Arnold residence, but we never found the time. I’m sorry.”

Without lifting her head, Madelyn turned a page and said, “I’m fine. You and Zach don’t need to worry about me. Jadie looked at the book in Madelyn’s hands, filled with Etlinish text. “What book are you reading?”

“War and Peace.” “It’s not the right time to read these books. You haven’t been back to school for several days, so I took notes for you. You can have them to review.” Jadie said, not being able to help but worry for her. Madelyn said, “Thank you, I–”

“I’ll leave them here for now. I have to go to Math Olympiad training class.” Jadie left a notebook and walked away.

Madelyn did not get to finish her sentence; she wanted to say it was not necessary. She was determined to get the top spot in the Math Olympiad special training class exam. If she came first in the final Math Olympiad exam, she would get direct admission to Ventropolis University. She did not want to rely completely on the Arnold family.

“Hey, Madelyn.” Adrian showed up just as Jadie left, leaning against the window. “I’m talking to you.” Madelyn’s voice was icy. “What do you want?”

“I heard you and Ethan Arnold are a thing now. Is that true?” Without even looking up, Madelyn nonchalantly turned a page, using a pencil to mark the sentences she could not translate. “Yeah, we’re a thing.”

Adrian cast a quick glance at Forrest, who was leaning against the wall, before swallowing hard. “Like, officially dating?”

“Yep.” Madelyn gave a small nod. Deep down, Madelyn still felt somewhat insecure, but she was ultimately swayed by Ethan’s sincere promises. Both had past relationships they struggled to move on from. She had finally moved on from Zach, and Ethan had done the same with his past love. Ethan had assured her that he would be patient as she figured things out. Considering this, and the fact that life was unpredictable, it seemed worth taking a chance.

“Wow, how far have you guys gotten? Have you kissed or held hands yet?” Madelyn looked at him, a bit confused. “Why do you ask? That’s our business. It’s got nothing to do with you.”

Madelyn thought, ‘I can’t even read in peace here!’ She packed her bag, intending to head to the library for some quiet time. But Adrian continued, “As for Forrest, you led him on and then just dropped him. What’s up with that?”

Madelyn’s eyebrows furrowed. “Led him on? Why would I do that? And where did you get the idea that I dumped him?”

Adrian raised an eyebrow, extended a hand, and started counting on his fingers. “You tutored him, shared your notes with him, went out to eat, went shopping together…”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
