The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1288

It was indeed unusual that Mya still had not come out of her room. In the past, no matter how angry or unhappy she was, when it was time for meals, she would leave her room and go downstairs to eat without any lingering resentment. She would also make up with Fred very quickly.

But now, not only was there no sound coming from her room, but she also did not go down for dinner even though Fred had specifically instructed the servants to make dishes she liked. Therefore, the servants believed something must have happened to Mya in the room.

The servant said, “Usually, at this hour, Ms. Harper would come out if she is hungry. But no matter how we called her just now, she didn’t respond.”

Ava was a very qualified lover. Besides her stunning look and figure, she could tolerate every woman around Fred; this was why she could stay by his side for so many years.

This villa in Ventropolis Prison was privately built, and it was where Fred lived. Previously, no one else had been here except for Ava. So, she was quite surprised when she returned and saw Mya here.

Ava kissed Fred’s lips, “I’m going back to the room to take a shower now. I’ll wait for you to come over at night.” She withdrew her seductive gaze from him before she went back to the room alone.

Fred kicked the door open and walked into the room. He frowned with anger when he saw there was no one inside.

He immediately went to the window to check, thinking she might have run away again.

“Mr. Turner, Ms. Harper is here.” One of the servants found Mya sleeping on the ground in the cloakroom.

Mya was leaning against the corner of the wall, holding a half-eaten snack in her hand. She heard someone calling her in a daze and opened her eyes. She then saw Fred standing in front of her wearing boots, with a scar on his eye, looking all fierce and stern.

She murmured in a soft voice, thinking she was dreaming, “Why does this bad guy keep appearing in my dreams? Ugh, I don’t want him. I want to play with Madelyn and Forrest. Madelyn, you haven’t finished telling me the story from last time. What happened to him in the end?”

Fred said, “Pour some water on her to wake her up.”

The servant immediately pleaded for Mya, “Mr. Turner, please don’t. This has never happened to Ms. Harper before. It might be because her condition has worsened. We should let her rest properly. She’ll be fine after she sleeps.”

Fred frowned as he stared at Mya, who had immediately fallen back asleep. There were some crumbs of snacks on her; she looked like a mentally ill person to him. He asked, “When did this start?”

The servant responded, “It’s only been happening recently. At its worst, she couldn’t recognize anyone. It’ll take time to treat her brain problem, and it’ll definitely take at least three to five years.”

Fred was disgusted by Mya when he saw her weight gain. Initially, he was intrigued by her innocent personality. But now, it seemed that this feeling had completely faded.

Fred had become tired of dealing with Mya.

He said, “If her condition can’t be treated in the country, send her abroad. Only bring her back when she recovers. 11

It seemed like he had already made up his mind when he said that.

The servant was still worried. “Mr. Turner, as far as we know, Ms. Harper has never been abroad. Will she be able to adapt on her own?”

Fred indifferently glanced at Mya. “She won’t die.”

He then heartlessly turned away and left.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
