The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 1282 by Max Charming

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1282

Margaret had a habit of getting up at night to check on Dalton. She had been sleeping in the room next to his room so that it was more convenient for her to take care of him.

She, fully dressed, got out of bed and walked toward Dalton’s room. She then saw his door was open. Margaret began to feel that something was seriously wrong. “Oh my, oh my, Dalton.

“Where did you go again?”

Margaret, panicked, rushed downstairs. As she walked down, she smelled a strong odor of gas.

It was then that she realized something was really wrong. Her drowsiness immediately vanished, and she was now fully awake. “This is bad. I need help! Something is wrong!”

Margaret then turned on all the lights in the villa. With his hand under his head lying down in the room, Kai immediately opened his eyes when he heard the scream. He put on his shirt and walked out of the room. He could also smell the unusual odors that filled the air. He then covered his nose and walked down the stairs.

The scene on the first floor was absolutely chaotic. Dalton was playing with water in the study.

Margaret hurriedly picked him up. “Oh my, what are you doing?!”

The guards outside rushed in. They seemed unfazed when they saw the floor filled with water and the chaotic scene. These well-trained guards merely took a glance and left.

Margaret thought, ‘There was a fire in the kitchen last time, and now the living room is flooded. Great, just great!

She said, “Why aren’t you sleeping at this hour? What on earth are you doing? Oh my!” She pondered, ‘I feel like I have to crack up at least two to three times a month. This incident is truly too much. I came to work for the Jent family because of the money, but dealing with Dalton for the past few months has been more distressing than anything I’ve previously encountered.’

While Margaret was panicking, Kai calmly looked around. He wondered where this pungent smell came from.

Then, he noticed something was off about the puddle of water in a corner. He then walked over, tapped it with his foot, and heard a hollow sound. He then used his fingers to pry out a piece of floorboard. Water in the living room flowed out through this hole.

In the darkness, Kai took out his phone and shone the light at the hole. He then saw a pair of eyes staring at him from underground.

“Oh no, we’ve been discovered,” a voice came from below.

Kai quickly ran out of the villa and said, “Someone has dug through the underground passage of Southern Haven Villas. You guys have to go and catch them now.”

However, the guards just stood still. ” Mr. Stewart, we’re only here to guard this place. Other matters aren’t our concern.”

Kai frowned and pointed inside. “Those people intend to burn down the entire Southern Haven Villas. Are you not aware of it? If anything happens to the people inside, how will you explain it to Fred?”

After some hesitation, the deputy warden dispatched two people to investigate. Soon, they seemed to have found some clues and headed off in a direction.

Kai questioned, “Why don’t you send more people? What if the other side has many?”

The deputy warden smiled proudly. Mr. Stewart, you’re underestimating the guards trained by Ventropolis Prison. One guard is enough to take on ten people. None of us are useless.”

Over ten minutes later, a guard returned, dragging a man whose legs had already been broken. The guard said, “This man was acting suspiciously. The dug hole was about one thousand six hundred feet away.”

The deputy warden replied, “Take him back to Ventropolis Prison and let Mr. Turner handle it.”

“Okay,”

Kai intervened, “I have some questions for him.”

The deputy warden responded, “Mr. Stewart, your task is already completed. Someone else will take care of the rest.”

Kai chuckled as he put his hands on his hips. “All right, even Fred is getting involved now. All of you are hiding things from me. Zach, you damn bastard!”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
