The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1277

Cecilia continued, “Oh, by the way. That kid… Zach really cares a lot about that kid. So, I’ll make whatever matters most to him disappear from this world.

“Got it, Ms. Samford. I’ll take care of it right away. Rest assured, I’ll make sure everything goes smoothly tonight. I won’t let you down.” The man anticipated eagerly and smirked, “Ms. Samford, what do you think about the company’s shares we discussed earlier?

Cecilia smirked and poked the man’s shoulder with her finger. “Don’t worry. You’ll get the shares you want.”

“Alright, I’ll take care of it now. Wait for my good news when it gets dark.”

‘Southern Haven Villas has gone down the drain, and the kid is gone. Madelyn, I don’t believe you won’t show up when this news spreads like wildfire. You can’t even protect your kid. I’d like to see when you plan to stop being a coward.’

Madelyn was too soft-hearted. Even if it was not her own kid, she could not bear to see him get hurt. Cecilia thought, ‘Even if you’re hiding in the shadows, so what? I’ve got a hundred ways to find you.’

Overseas in Roshya, Madelyn, who was sleeping, suddenly felt a sharp pain in her chest. In her dream, she saw Dalton crying and calling out to her. Except for Zach, she also never let go of Dalton. For some reason, she always dreamt of him. Just thinking about him being alone with no one to take care of him, the pain in her heart just would not go away.

Madelyn anxiously picked up her phone and dialed a number. Kai was still in the office studying medical cases. When he saw the call, he felt a bit surprised. He answered, “Maddie, what’s up? Do you need me for something urgent?”

Madelyn clutched her painful chest and said, “I dreamt something happened to Dal. Can you help me check the Southern Haven Villas? I have this bad feeling inside.”

Kai took a deep breath and sighed heavily. “Maddie, Dal isn’t your kid. Forget it. I’ll go check out Southern Haven Villas if you’re really worried. Did you call just for this? Aren’t you afraid Cecilia might be monitoring my phone and find out about you in the process?”

Madelyn pursed her lips. She touched her sweaty forehead and said with concern, “I don’t know what’s happening to me. I keep dreaming that something befall Dal lately.”

Kai chuckled and shook his head. “I only know there’s a strong maternal bond, but your situation is difficult to explain medically. I don’t have much going on at five in the evening. How about this? I’ll head over shortly to have a look. If you’re missing the kid, just give me a call. Zach won’t wake up anytime soon anyway.”

“Okay, thank you.”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
