The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 1247 by Max Charming

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1247

Kai shook his head and did not explain anything further. He could only deduce that because Zach had committed so many evil acts toward Madelyn throughout his life, this was the only way for him to make her have a change of heart. However, it was wrong for him to gamble it after all that scheming; she would not come back just because he gambled off his life.

Since that was what Zach owed Madelyn, only he could repay his debt; no one could interject in it. There was an insurmountable chasm between them. Regardless, the Jardin Corporation had nothing to do with Kai. Ultimately, taking in Cecilia was Zach’s choice.

Blake said Cecilia had found where Madelyn was staying, but that was impossible. If Madelyn had not shown herself, even Kai would not have known where she was. Unless she came out herself and accepted Zach, no one would be able to find her.

‘Everyone has their regrets anyways,’ Kai mused.

On the other hand, Blake drove and passed through the city. She managed to buy pastina and returned to the hospital. When she arrived, she told them, “I was worried taking away the food would affect its texture, so I’ll warm it up first, Mrs. Stewart. The owner had prepared the sauces for us, too.”

Lana smiled and nodded in gratitude, ” Thank you.”

Blake replied, “It’s fine. It’s part of my job.”

Then, she brought the cooked pastina to Lana. After she finished eating, she went to sleep. When Blake looked at the time, it was already midnight. She sat by the door and nodded off.

When her head drooped, she saw a pair of leather shoes. Blake immediately woke up and raised her head. She swiftly rose and asked, “Are you preparing to rest, Dr. Stewart? I won’t take up more than five minutes. I have some stuff I want to say to you.”

Kai raised his wrist to check the time. He then commented, “You have four and a half minutes starting now.”

Blake immediately started, “I won’t lie to you. I’m Cecilia’s long-lost sister. My original name was Abigail Samford. To solidify her status, she collaborated with the Xander family to help them obtain the mayor seat. Hence, she’s using Madelyn’s life to blackmail me into marrying into the Xander family and becoming Mrs. Xander.”

Then, Blake continued, “I’m looking for you first to tell you that Cecilia has found Madelyn’s location. Secondly, I want to help Kevin finish the mission Mr. Jardin left him. I like Kevin, and I want to be with him. Hence, regardless of whether it’s for Madelyn or Kevin, I hope everything can be as it was.

“Now, I’m at a dead end. I don’t know what the hell to do, and I have no way to do them. So, I came to meet you,” Blake ended.

Then, Kai interjected, “You finished?”

Blake answered thoughtfully, “I’ve finished.”

“Alright,” Kai replied and nodded his head. Then, he explained, “Now, I’ll answer your questions. You say it’s all for Madelyn, but you do it just because you don’t want to marry someone you don’t love. I took psychology when I was in France long ago; I know what goes on in someone’s mind.”

He continued, “I’m sure Madelyn treated you nicely, so you don’t have to worry. She is fine. No one will find her if she doesn’t show herself.

“Alright, that’s my answer,” Kai said.

He then put his hands in his pockets and turned around. Then, he gave Blake a sideways glance. He added, “If you truly want to help Madelyn, then you should think where Cecilia’s breakthrough is at.”

‘Who is she afraid of? Who she is terrified of!’ Blake realized.

“Or more so, what’s her weakness,” Kai told her.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
