The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1232

Blake refused Liam’s advice for her to take a holiday. The following morning, she returned to the company. As expected, Liam had already arrived early at the office.

Blake saw him pinching the bridge of his nose. When Liam raised his head, his bloodshot eyes met hers. Blake went over and placed her bag down. She asked caringly, “Is your headache acting up again? Have you taken your meds, Liam?”

Liam shook his head. Blake wanted to touch his forehead but stopped herself and told him, “I’ll help you make a doctor’s appointment online, so go and see the doctor. You can’t go on like this. I’ve looked at your schedule, and you don’t have anything urgent scheduled today, just a meeting with the Mandarin Lectio Company at noon. I can still send you to the hospital in time.”

Liam noticed that Blake seemed to remember his schedule this time. Usually, Liam would have to mention it himself and bring her with him everywhere he went.

‘Seems like Blake has changed,’ Liam thought. He answered her, “No need. I’m fine.”

Blake raised her wrist and took a look at the time. Without saying much, she took her phone and helped her arrange an appointment with a neurology doctor.

“Mr. Xander, I’ve already helped you arrange an appointment in half an hour. You’d better pack your stuff and leave with me right now,” Blake’s tone was furious.

Liam smiled helplessly and obliged, ” Sure.”

Blake spoke to a few editors and gave them some instructions. Then, she drove Liam to the hospital. Blake was paying full attention throughout her drive.

Suddenly, she asked, “Did you stay up late last night? Did you forget what the doctor told you? You’ve just had your surgery. It’ll have lasting effects on your health if you don’t take better care of yourself. Burning the midnight oil is the worst thing you can do right now.”

Liam closed his eyes and listened to her speak. After a while, he responded, ” Ixia came over last night. I didn’t want to see her, so I moved to the hotel. I don’t like her at all.”

Blake glanced at him and asked, “Why did she look for you? If I remember correctly, she’s your sister, right?”

Liam immediately opened his eyes and stared at her. Their gazes met, and Blake immediately understood what he meant.

Blake paused and exclaimed, “It can’t be! I remember she only met you a few times, yet she took a liking to you? Girls these days are unbelievable!”

Blake then asked instinctively, “What about you? How do you feel about her?”

Liam answered gently, “Blake, you know what my feelings are. I’m still waiting for your reply.”

Blake’s expression turned thoughtful, and she replied, “Liam, it’s not happening between us. Kevin and I… When he comes back, we’re getting married.”

‘I might even be having his baby right now,’ Blake thought silently.

“I don’t want to think about anything else; I just want to work,” Blake continued.

Liam did not respond. After this, Blake accompanied him to the doctor and watched him take the medicines that had been prescribed by the doctor. On the way back, Liam noticed something and asked, “This isn’t the road to the company, is it?”

Blake answered, “I know you don’t like staying in hotels. If Ixia is still at your place, you can stay and rest at my apartment for now. Call me when you wake up, and I’ll help you get your things from the hotel. I won’t be going back to my place for the time being, so you can stay there for now.”

“Either way, you have to take care of yourself,” Blake reminded him.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
