The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1231

Liam chose to ignore Ixia’s behavior and said to her with determination, ” I’ll only say this once. I’ll never marry you, and I don’t need the Xander family’s help, either. Blake is the only reason I went to work for Jardin Corporation. Even if Blake wasn’t involved, I wouldn’t want to be related to you anyway.”

“If you want to stay here so much, be my guest.” Liam scoffed, walking into the study right before her. Then, he took some files for work and picked up his laptop bag.

Ixia saw this and quickly grabbed his arm to stop him before asking him, ” Where are you going? You can’t leave me, Liam. Do you really hate me that much? Is it because I said I like you?”

Liam flung her outstretched arm away and said, “Stop acting so desperate.” He took his belongings and left.

Ixia chased after him and called out, ” Liam!”

However, Liam was already gone. Ixia stomped angrily and huffed, “It’s all your fault, Blake. Liam wouldn’t have left me if it weren’t for you!”

On the other hand, Liam was already driving away from the apartment and on his way to stay at a hotel. Ixia took a cab and cried all the way back to the Xander residence.

Lylia saw her precious daughter come home crying and immediately went over to comfort her. “What’s wrong, Ixia? Did someone hurt you? Tell me what happened.”

Lylia sat Ixia by her side and took some tissues to wipe Ixia’s tears. Ixia proceeded to say between sobs, “Mom, I went to see Liam, but he threw me out of his house. I worked hard all day just to wait for him to come home and eat with me.”

“Yet, he doesn’t even acknowledge me; he even scolded me! What makes Blake better than me anyway? She’s older and uglier than me,” Ixia continued to vent.

Lylia coaxed her, “Ixia, you can’t let your father know that you looked for Liam. Your father’s already thinking of ways to get Liam back. Until then, I have my own plans to make him accept you, so you shouldn’t force him too much, okay?” Lylia explained to her.

When she heard this, Ixia felt much better. She continued, “But Liam still likes Blake and won’t even bother with me, Mom. Blake and Liam aren’t even together, so he’s lying to us.”

Lylia also worked for the government, so she sneered and said, “People like that aren’t worthy of becoming a member of the Xander family.”

Ixia pleaded, “Mom, please help me think of a plan to drive Blake out of Ventropolis, okay? That way, Liam will stop seeing her. If not, you can find a way to get me a job in the company where Liam works. That way, I can be with Liam every day, and we can also establish a relationship that way.”

Lylia reminded her, “Ixia, you have to remember that you can’t rush it, alright?”

“But mom,” Ixia argued.

“That’s enough, Ixia. This doesn’t just concern you; it involves the whole Xander family. If you keep making a fuss and rushing things, don’t blame me for what happens after,” Lylia warned her.

A few projects from Jardin Corporation were still waiting for government approval. With just a few words from the Xander family, they could make Liam obey. Had Lylia not lost her ability to reproduce, she would never have let him back into the Xander family.

‘He’ll definitely give in to our offer of power and wealth. If he wants those things, he needs to marry Ixia and become a member of the Xander family, ‘She thought.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
