The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1224

Kevin dropped Blake off near the guarded compound and drove away.

When she returned to her room, she found that Cecilia had not come back yet since last night.

Blake did not care where she had gone. She tiredly walked to the bathroom, wanting to take a shower. But as soon as she entered the bathroom, she thought of something and decided to walk back into the bedroom. She then lay on the bed with a pillow under her waist.

She thought, ‘This is a foolish idea, but I have no other choice.’

When Cecilia returned, she saw Blake sleeping soundly and a pillow on the floor. When she walked closer to Blake, she noticed some marks under her collar and could guess what happened..

Cecilia looked serious as she pondered, ‘ Why is she so wrong-headed?

‘Liam isn’t any worse than Kevin. Why must Blake fall for a man with no background and status?’

Cecilia did not rest the entire night. She went to take a shower before getting into bed and lay beside Blake.

When Blake woke up in the afternoon and saw Cecilia lying beside her, she was startled and immediately sat up. Her eyes were filled with disgust.

Blake’s movement woke up Cecilia.

Blake said, “There are two rooms. Why do you have to share a bed with me?”

Cecilia smiled as she looked at Blake, ” Didn’t you used to love sleeping with me?”

Blake ignored Cecilia and lifted the blanket. She then grabbed the clothes nearby and walked straight into the bathroom for a shower.

After she closed the bathroom door, she looked at the full-length mirror and touched her lower abdomen. She thought, ‘Whether there’s a child or not, I’ll wait for you to come back.”

After she showered and walked out of the bathroom, she asked Cecilia, who had already gotten out of bed, “When are we going back?”

Cecilia responded, “Did you meet Kevin last night? It seems he has some feelings for you.

“Have you asked all the questions that you want to know?”

Blake replied, “I didn’t ask.”

Sitting at the dressing table, Cecilia glanced at Blake and put on some heavy earrings, “Is Kevin really worth your unconditional devotion? You chose him without any hesitation. Have you ever thought about Liam? He returned to the Xander family, a place he never wanted to be, all for you.” As she said this, she got up and walked to Blake.

“You’re my sister. There are things that I’m not afraid to share with you. Liam will leave StartReading one day and eventually pursue a political career. In the future, Liam and Kevin will become enemies. You do know that Kevin works for Zach. If Liam finds something out, Kevin will be the one to take the blame. What are the chances you think he can survive?

“If you insist on being with Kevin, you’ll only get into trouble because of him.”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
