The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1223

The night was windy. Blake, feeling cold, hugged herself. Kevin then took her to a car parked at a secluded place by the river. The car had the heating on.

Suddenly, Blake leaned in and kissed him. She sat on his lap and continued kissing him. After that, she cupped his face and pressed her forehead against his, “Kevin, I’ll give you three years. I’ll wait for you to return to Ventropolis. During this period, I don’t care what you do, but after three years… You must give me a call or a message.

“If you want to marry me, I’m willing to marry you.

“I’ll look after the position of the CEO’s assistant for you. When Mr. Jardin wakes up, I’ll be there and wait for you to return, okay?

“If you don’t speak, I’ll take it as you agree to it.”

For Kevin, everything was too uncertain. He thought, ‘Three years… Who knows how many three years a person has?’

He replied, “Leave this place, and I’ll agree with what you said.”

Blake grabbed his collar, “I’m already here. I won’t just leave now. And you can’t leave until dawn.”

She then started unbuttoning his shirt.

The atmosphere in the swaying car was romantic, with Blake’s muffled sounds and pants.

After a while, when she finally could not bear it anymore, she fell into a deep sleep on Kevin’s chest.

It was almost daybreak when she woke up. She gently touched Kevin’s eyes as if she wanted to memorize his features clearly. Kevin, feeling ticklish from her touch, opened his eyes and met her gaze.

Blake said, “Cecilia is also here. I might have to leave soon. I wish I could stay with you a little longer.”

Kevin glanced at the window and noticed it was almost dawn. Blake continued, “If I tell you I’m Cecilia’s younger sister, will you hate me?”

Kevin replied, “I already know that.”

Blake responded, “I knew it. You know everything, but you just won’t tell me.”

She then lay down on his chest again to rest for a while. His steady heartbeat gave her a sense of security.

Blake asked, “So, what do you think? Should I acknowledge her as my sister?

Actually, I can only recall pieces of memories. I just can’t accept that my sister turned out to be this kind of person. From what I remember, she was never like this. I don’t know why she’d turn into what she is now.”

Kevin responded, “People change. Cecilia is too ambitious; if she continues to be like this, she’ll face consequences. Blake, Cecilia isn’t as simple as you think.”

He paused before continuing, “Do you know Agustin Bond?”

Blake replied, “I don’t. What’s going on between him and Cecilia?”

But suddenly, Blake thought of something. She lifted her head and said, “Last night, I saw her getting into a car. There was a man inside it. I don’t know if he’s the Agustin you mentioned.”

Kevin pondered, ‘Blake shouldn’t get involved in this matter.’

He said, “Get down; my legs are numb.”

Blake hummed twice and said, “I don’t care. I won’t get down. I want to hug you now because I know I won’t be able to do this for a long time.”

Kevin lowered his head to look but did not respond to her reply. He then said, ” I’ll give you another ten minutes. We should leave soon.

“I’ll text you after you get back.”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
