The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1171

Blake smiled as she said, “I’ve been busy with work lately, but I promise I’ll make sure to come back in the future and have dinner with you two.”

Grace smiled as she put some vegetables into Blake’s bowl. “That’s good to hear. No matter how busy you are with work, you must take good care of yourself. Come back to live here. Both your room and Mya’s room have been unoccupied for a long time, but I have the maid clean them every day.”

Blake responded, “Thank you. You treat me so well.”

It was only when Blake was with them that she could finally experience the long-lost feeling of home again.

After dinner, Blake took a shower in the bathroom. She sent a text to Kevin to tell him about her work and what she had done today, including what she had for lunch and afternoon tea.

However, she received no response from him at all.

Being able to quarrel with Kevin felt like a luxury to Blake now. She sat on the swing on the balcony, hugging her knees and staring into the pitch-dark night sky.

She muttered to herself, “When will we be able to go back to the way we used to be? Kevin, I miss you so much.”

Kevin had not replied to Blake’s messages for days. She even wondered if they were really in a relationship. A message notification sound could then be heard.

Blake thought it might be a reply and quickly picked up her phone.

It was a message from Liam: [When are you coming back? I’ve made soup for you.]

Blake stared at her conversation with Liam as she deleted and edited her reply several times before decisively replying: [I’m not going back today. Liam, I might be living at home from now on.]

The next second, Liam called.

Liam sounded a little weak, “Is it because I’ve caused you trouble? I’m sorry!”

Blake responded, “Liam, it’s not your fault. It’s because I haven’t been home for a long time; it’s not your fault. I’ll drink the soup tomorrow. The food you make is always really good, especially the soup.”

There then came knocking sounds from outside the door.

“Blake, are you asleep?”

Blake turned to glance, covering her phone mic, and shouted, “Not yet, Grace.” She then turned back to her phone, “Liam, if you have something to say, can we talk about it tomorrow? You’re still sick, so you should rest early.”

Liam replied, “Okay.”

After hanging up, Blake went to open the door, “Grace.”

Grace smiled. “I thought about how you and Mya used to love having late-night snacks, so I made you supper.”

Blake quickly reached out to take it. ” Are these caramel cupcakes?”

Grace responded, “Yes! I’ve been keeping the caramel sauce in the fridge for you all. Now that you’re back, I made some caramel cupcakes for you.”

Blake sat at the dressing table, eagerly eating. “The caramel cupcakes you make are the best.”

Grace asked, “I heard you talking to someone on your phone. Was it your boyfriend?

“You’re not getting any younger, you know. It’s about time you start dating.”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
