The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 1166 by Max Charming

When Kevin glanced at Blake, she felt the way he looked at her was so unfamiliar as if he had never seen her before. He quickly looked away.

As the door closed, someone who seemed almost lifeless was forcefully thrown out of the ward and crashed against the wall. That person then spat out a mouthful of blood.

Blake’s eyes widened instantly, and the takeout she was holding dropped to the ground.

“Oh no, someone’s here.”

“It’s quite a coincidence. Isn’t this the person we met this morning?”

When Blake saw them approaching her, she quickly explained, “I didn’t intentionally eavesdrop on you. I just happened to be passing by.”

She was being looked at by many people. One person suddenly said, ” Giant, do you know who she is?”

The person called “Giant” rubbed his chin and looked at the man beside him. “How should we deal with this girl? We don’t know what she heard.”

Kevin, in black leather boots, walked steadily with heavy steps on the marble floor, making heavy sounds. Black watched him approach her, feeling an inexplicable fear at the sight of this unfamiliar Kevin.

Blake did not know what to do. She stood still as Kevin walked up to her. He bent down to pick up the fallen takeout bag. With his fingers hooking the string of the bag, he stood in front of Blake and coldly growled, “Keep your mouth shut. No matter what you heard or saw, if you dare to say a word to anyone, be prepared to face the consequences.”

Blake’s heart skipped a beat. She lowered her eyes and quickly replied, “I -I understand.”

Kevin said, “Two of you stay here and keep an eye on that person.”

“Okay.”

“Why are you standing here? Do you want to stay?” This statement was clearly directed at Blake.

Blake immediately ran in the opposite direction without looking back. After a while, Kai came out of the ward. He was holding a cigarette.

“Damn, you guys really went at him, huh? Come on, he’s almost dead. If you’re gonna kill him, don’t let him die in my hospital, it’s bad luck!”

Blake returned to Liam’s ward, feeling uneasy. She came back to her senses when she heard the muffled groans coming from the room. She quickly went in to check the situation.

Liam, awake, had fallen on the ground.

Blake said, “Don’t move, be careful with the needle.”

It was almost midnight now, and the commotion in the corridor seemed to have ceased. Liam lay back on the bed. Blake said to him, “Are you thirsty? I’ll get you some water.”

She then poured a glass of water for him and placed it on his lips. “Be careful.”

Liam’s weak gaze was covered by his stray hair, looking much weaker than before. He said, “Thank you for your trouble. You can go home and rest now. I’m almost fully recovered.”

Blake replied, “No way. Your body temperature has finally gone down. What if you get sick again later? I bought some soup. Let me heat it up for you to drink.”

Liam had been sleeping all day without eating. Blake, as his assistant, could not help but worry. Liam kept staring at Blake while she was busy heating up the soup as if all he could see was her.

Blake microwaved the soup and carefully brought it over to Liam. “I bought it earlier today, so just bear with it. Tomorrow, when you’re better, we can get something delicious.”

Liam replied, “Okay.”

Liam could not move, so Blake had to feed him with a spoon.

Neither of them mentioned what happened this morning.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
