The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1142

“No, don’t come here,” Madelyn warned Zach. Zach looked like a madman. Madelyn took the opportunity to run out the door behind him while he was weak.

“Ah!” Zach roared and grabbed her by the ankle again. Madelyn fell entirely to the ground. Her clean clothes were instantly smudged with Zach’s blood. She saw his eyes and felt terrified.

The next moment, Zach’s cold and bloodied face stared at Madelyn. His hands clutched her neck while his blood trickled off his face. Madelyn gripped his hands in pain and pleaded, “Zach, let me go!”

“Are you going to run!” Zach asked menacingly. Madelyn shut her eyes in pain and kept silent.

“Answer me! Are you going to run!” Zach asked again.

“Why do you still run? Am I not treating you well enough?” Zach continued to question her.

He saw her painful expression and felt the same way; it was the helplessness from being unable to stop her from leaving him. Just when Madelyn was about to faint, Zach suddenly let go of her. He tore her clothes off and bit her shoulder.

“Ah!” Madelyn cried in pain. The people outside heard the commotion and wanted to rush in. However, Zach had ordered them not to enter. They all took a step back simultaneously when they heard Madelyn’s terrible cry. Zach was still tenacious and still wanted to fool around in broad daylight.

Blood filled Zach’s mouth.

“Once you die, you’ll always stay by my side. You want Ethan, right? I’ll have him buried with you, okay?” Zach said crazily.

“You’re mad!” Madelyn shouted at him. He touched her neck and saw the marks he had left on her.

‘Why did it come to this?’ Zach thought.

“Once he dies, you won’t even think of running away!” He said manically. Madelyn could see that Zach had lost his sanity. She could see the murder in his eyes and knew that he truly wanted to kill Ethan.

Madelyn suddenly picked up the dagger. Zach saw this from the corner of his eyes but did not stop her. She used every last ounce of her strength and slashed him. He felt the pain and raised his head. He stared at her deeply and asked, “You want to kill me?”

Madelyn pushed him away quickly and then struggled to stand up. She said to him, “You forced me to do all this.

Zach, I don’t love you and had never thought of staying by your side.

“If you touch me, I’ll kill you,” Madelyn threatened him.

“Kill me?” Zach chuckled. He questioned her, “Madelyn, I was the one who stood up for you since you were young, yet you still want to kill you? Do you know what it feels like to kill people? Which part would become a killing blow?”

Madelyn warned him, “Z-Zach, don’t you dare make a move! We were never meant to be together. I know about it all! We’re blood-related! Do you know that our marriage is incestuous?!

“I now understand why my father forced us to be together. You knew about this all along, didn’t you? Zach, do you know how disgusting our relationship is?!” Madelyn cursed at him.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
