Madelyn did not answer that question. Zach said, “I’ve prepared a gift for you tonight. I’m sure you’ll like it.”

Madelyn remained silent.

They arrived at Eternal Seasons. There was a long, white wedding carpet adorned with flowers. This wedding was unprecedented; it was the grandest in the entire Ventropolis. Hundreds of luxury cars were there at the venue. People on the sidewalks stopped to watch as each luxury car passed by.

The wedding was even broadcast live. It amazed everyone. Even when Zach married for the first time, he did not have such a grand wedding.

Agustin was present, as per Madelyn’s request. So, Zach had to agree with it. Under the guidance of the wedding officiant, the wedding ceremony went smoothly without any interruptions.

Menacing, Frida tried to enter the wedding venue but was stopped by the bodyguards at the door, “I’m sorry, Ms. Young. You aren’t invited, so you can’t go in.”

Frida responded, “Since you know who I am, how dare you stop me?! Let me in now! I want to see Zach! I want to see him right now!”

The bodyguard frowned tightly, “Ms. Young, if you continue causing a scene, we’ll have to take you to the police station and release you only after the wedding is over.”

“How dare you?!”

“We’re just following Mr. Jardin’s orders. Please don’t make it difficult for us.”

Frida gave up and frustratedly returned to her car. Then, a shifty-looking man also got in the car and sighed, “It’s impossible! Ms. Young, it’s insane here. Not only that I couldn’t go in, but even when I disguised myself as a waiter, it didn’t work either. They are conducting thorough inspections at every entrance. They’re very strict!”

The wedding ceremony was about to conclude. Frida placed her hand on her forehead and said, “It seems that Zach has spent a lot of effort preparing for this wedding.”

That man nodded, “Indeed. The security personnel here are all professionals. I heard they were brought in from the Ventropolis Prison. They won’t let anyone slip through.”

Frida responded, “What?! Zach actually hired people from the Ventropolis Prison?! He’s really insane!”

Cecilia watched Zach and Madelyn’s wedding on the big screen outside the floor-to-ceiling windows; it was currently broadcast there.

Upon seeing Madelyn in her splendid wedding outfit, Cecilia went crazy. She got off the bed and smashed everything in the room!

The room became a mess. Cecilia said, ” Why did the wedding go so smoothly?! The Young family is so useless!

“They’re all useless!

“Zach! You’re mine. The person you should marry is me!”

Cecilia was filled with emotions while blood was flowing out of her private part. She hysterically covered her belly, “My child is gone, and it’s all because of you. You’ve ruined everything for me. In this lifetime, I won’t stop until I’ve dealt with you once and for all!

“Madelyn, do you think everything will be fine just because the wedding went smoothly? The matter between us has only just begun!”

A nurse heard the noise inside the ward and hurriedly entered, “Ms. Samford, you’re bleeding. I’ll call a doctor for you!”

Madelyn was taken back to her quaint room, guarded by bodyguards outside the door.

She was alone in the room now.

She took out a small bottle containing a transparent liquid from her pocket. After getting off the bed, she opened the bottle of red wine on the table and put a few drops of the liquid into it.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
