The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1120

That man thought, ‘Cecilia is indeed ruthless; otherwise, I wouldn’t have chosen her.’

Women like Cecilia, very calm at work, tended to be dominant in relationships. They had zero tolerance for any form of betrayal. Such individuals were absolutely ruthless when confronting their enemies.

However, women like that had a fatal weakness-they could be distracted by the men they loved.

Blake still did not know that something happened to Madelyn. She had been busy these days and did not have the chance to call Madelyn.

After some hesitation, Blake decided to call Madelyn. Listening to the weak voice on the phone, Blake asked with concern,” Madelyn, your voice sounds a little off.

What’s wrong? Are you sick? Which hospital are you in? I’ll come visit you.”

After Madelyn had a high fever, she woke up. Fortunately, her high fever had subsided four hours ago.

Zach was holding Madelyn’s phone for her. She glanced at him and remembered that Blake was afraid of Zach. Just like Mya, whenever Blake saw Zach, she would feel terrified.

After hesitating for a few seconds, Madelyn finally agreed, “Yes, I’m at SereneCare Hospital. You can come over. Drive safe.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll drive safe.”

After the call ended, Madelyn said to Zach, “Blake is coming over to visit me now. She’ll definitely feel scared if she sees you here. When you leave later, could you please buy some food for me?

Zach’s gaze intensified for a moment. ” Sure, but she can only stay for ten minutes. What do you want to eat?”

Madelyn’s voice was a bit hoarse as she said, “I want the soup from The Deli.”

Zach responded, “Okay. Wait for me.”

After Zach left the ward, with his suit jacket hanging on his arm, he gazed sharply at Kevin. “Keep an eye on them. You know what to do if anything goes wrong.”

Kevin nodded, “Yes.”

He thought, ‘Blake is quite bold. If Madelyn hadn’t made a request, Mr. Jardin wouldn’t have allowed Blake to visit her.’

Kevin glanced at Madelyn who was inside the ward. ‘With her current state, Mr. Jardin will surely grant her every request.’

Blake arrived at the hospital with the flowers Madelyn liked the most. Kevin reached out and stopped Blake. ” You only have ten minutes.”

Blake rolled her eyes at Kevin. “Mind your own business.” She then pushed his hand away. After entering the ward, Blake was shocked. She did not expect Madelyn’s condition to be more serious than she had imagined. She was even hooked up to a ventilator.

Madelyn asked, “You look very troubled. What’s wrong? Is there a problem with Eternal Seasons?”

Blake replied, “No, everything is fine over there. I just couldn’t resist wanting to show you the venue I decorated.”

She decided to wait and tell Madelyn about what she had found out about Cecilia in the future. She did not want Madelyn to be upset because of it.

However, Blake wondered if Madelyn would truly be happy after marrying Zach, considering he had done such a thing.

Blake was about to show Madelyn photos on her phone, but she immediately stopped herself. “No, if I show you now, there won’t be any surprises later. Why don’t I tell you about something that happened recently instead?

“Let me tell you quietly…”

Blake discreetly glanced toward the door to check if anyone was eavesdropping before saying, “Ms. Samford got attacked, and she’s now in the hospital.”

Madelyn pretended she did not know about it. She asked, “I heard you’re working under Cecilia now. Are you okay with it? If not, I’ll have Zach change your position. I imagine Cecilia’s not easy to work with.”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
