The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1102

“Even so, there was no justification for hurting Yvonne. Zach, you broke her heart and nearly took her life. Now you want to kill her? You’ve wronged the Young family, and even more so, the Arnold family.” Frida tightened her grip on the trigger. “If you dare move any closer, I won’t go easy on you.”

Zach retorted, “If it weren’t for Madelyn, the Young family would have been ruined by now. And you dare negotiate with me? Do you really think you’re worthy of doing so?”

Just then, a commotion erupted upstairs.

“Ah! Who are you people?”

“What are you doing?”

In less than half a minute, everyone upstairs was driven down, including a maid holding a basin full of blood, who slipped and fell down the stairs as the blood spilled down along with her.

“Help, help! These people suddenly burst in through the window, saying they were taking Ms. Young away,” said the maid.

Frida’s eyes, fierce and determined, fixed on Zach. She threatened, “If you dare lay a finger on my daughter, I’ll kill you!”

Driving in the heavy rain, Kai was driving speedily in the heavy rain and his palm gripped the steering wheel. When he was reaching the Arnold residence, he heard gunshots in the distance.

“Crap! They’ve already started!” Kai cursed, stepping on the accelerator hard, and headed toward the location of the gunshot.

The gunshot Frida fired missed Zach, hitting a vase instead. He said, “Your gun can only fire once. What else can you use to stop me?”

The Arnold residence was already under Zach’s control, subject to his every command.

Frida looked at Zach in despair and said, “You’re a monster.”

Zach paused his ascent up the stairs. He dusted off his sleeve and said, “That depends on who I’m dealing with. Now, do you think Fred will still protect the Young family? It’s always wise to have several backup plans, don’t you think, Ms. Young?”

“You…” Frida’s eyes widened in shock.

‘How did he find out?’ Frida pondered. Zach’s gaze held disdain. The affair between Fred and Frida was hardly a secret to Zach. He knew exactly what Fred was like.

Zach continued ascending the stairs and said, “Imagine if people found out that YTCorp’s esteemed CEO sold herself for money, and slept with a man… What would happen then? That kind of scandal would make it impossible for the Young family to stay in the capital with any dignity.”

Zach reached the top and found the surgeon who had operated on Yvonne already under control.

His bodyguard said, “Sir, she’s in there.

Zach pushed open the door and was hit with a foul stench of blood. The machines were still running, but a screen obscured any view of the person inside.

He surveyed the room and noticed the fully equipped setup with hanging blood bags. He slowly stepped forward, lifting the curtain. There, a figure in a wheelchair, shrouded in a scarf, shakily wrapped themselves up.

Yvonne saw the shadow approaching her from behind. She croaked hoarsely, “Don’t come any closer! “Don’t… come any closer.”

Zach stepped on something with a glass -shattering sound. With each step he took, Yvonne grew more fearful.

Yvonne could not bear Zach seeing her in this wretched state nor could she accept the disgust and disdain that would appear on Zach’s face upon seeing her.

“Did you enjoy your little hide-and- seek?” Zach asked.

Zach never left anyone a way out. He uncovered the face Yvonne was desperately trying to hide.

“Ah!” Yvonne shouted. The bright lights in the room blinded her and she frantically tried to cover her face.

Zach discarded the scarf, standing over Yvonne, his eyes devoid of warmth. Whether before Yvonne’s disfigurement or now, his expression remained the same, cold and distant.

“Don’t look at me, I beg you. Don’t look at me!” Yvonne pleaded.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
