The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1032

The car started moving. Blake felt highly uneasy. When she got into the car just now, she could immediately sense a pressure that made her feel suffocated and unable to speak. She anxiously lowered her head and did not dare to speak.

She thought, ‘Until I officially leave the Jardin Corporation, I’m still their employee.’

Blake then recalled the disdainful look she gave Kevin earlier and pondered, Honestly, no one’s as petty as he is. If someone says or does something he doesn’t like, he’ll react strongly and just bully them.

‘Is he here for revenge?’

The atmosphere remained tense. Blake felt very uncomfortable in this strange silence. After a while, she smelled a mint fragrance which temporarily eased her nerves.

She noticed a bottle of air freshener placed under the windshield. Her eyes lit up immediately, “Oh, Mr. Harrison, you’re using this cologne too? I recommended this to you last time. This product smells great, doesn’t it?”

The car stopped at the red light. Kevin remained looking in front with his hands resting on the steering wheel as he said casually, “Susan prepared it. We’ve been traveling frequently lately, so I’m making sure she doesn’t puke in my car.”

“Oh, I see.” Blake could not help but feel a little sad and a strange, inexpressible feeling.

While it was still quiet, Blake felt her phone vibrate. She then looked at the message from a familiar number.

Liam asked: [Are you in the car?]

Blake teasingly replied: [You don’t bring your phone when you’re out, but you know how to send a text?]

Liam did not respond to her comment. He responded: [Text me when you get home. I’ll go update my novel.]

Blake texted: [Okay. Write more and make us the readers happy.]

Liam was holding a cup standing in front of the bar. The soft light shone on his gentle eyes as he looked at the conversation. He smiled slightly as he responded: [Sure.]

He then received a phone call and picked it up. Liam’s mother, Bette Loren asked, Liam, how was the blind date? Did the conversation go well?”

Liam answered, “Yes, she’s nice.”

Bette immediately smiled cheerfully, ” Silly boy, it seems like you’re interested in her. If you like her, pursue her properly. Don’t stay at home all day writing your novels. Go out more often. Blake’s mother and I are childhood friends. If it weren’t for Blake’s parents being busy and sending her to live with her aunt since she was a kid, you two could’ve been childhood sweethearts.

“When Blake was three years old, she used to snatch food from your hands to eat. But so many years had passed, she probably had forgotten about it.”

Liam did not respond.

Bette continued saying, “All right, the drama I’ve been following is starting soon. I’ll hang up now.”

Blake’s place was indeed quite far away. Ten minutes later, Blake, who was watching videos on her phone, received updates for the subscribed novel.

People started texting in the fan group chat she joined: [Xander finally updated.]

[Can Xander catch up on all the overdue chapters?]

[Xander should update a hundred chapters tomorrow.]

[Yes! Two chapters are simply not enough.]

Kevin noticed Blake was giggling at her phone through the rearview mirror. He was usually calm. But now, he frowned and asked, “There are still ten days left. Have you thought about it?”

Blake instinctively replied without lifting her head, “About what?”

Kevin replied, “Your resignation! I still haven’t submitted the resignation request to the HR department, you still have a chance to change your mind.”

Blake responded without hesitation, “I never regret what I’ve decided. I’ve decided to take the Civil Service Exams. The bonus I received last time was quite a lot. It’s enough to support me for some time.

“If I pass the exam, it’ll be easy for me to find a partner. Who knows, a rich, handsome guy might fall for me one day.”

She could not stop talking as she continued, “Do you know who my mom set me up for the blind date? It’s Xander Gale! The person I’ve admired since middle school. I never dreamed that he’d turn out to be my blind date.

“Sigh, I just don’t know if he’s interested in me!”

The Novel will be updated daily. Come back and continue reading tomorrow, everyone!

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
