Rachel also mentioned, “I once heard Arnold express his desire to have someone take Paul out of the country.”
Josie had Moses accompany her to the police station, where she had arranged to meet with Scott.
“We didn’t neglect the investigation into Scar,” Scott explained. “However, he disappeared once he reached Rivodia, and our colleagues there were unable to locate him. However, we recently came across a suspicious individual who bears a striking resemblance to Scar. He has changed his name and moved abroad. We are still conducting our investigation.”
Josie furrowed her brows. “Where did he go?”
“lugrea,” Scott quickly added. “But don’t worry, we are still investigating. Nothing has been confirmed yet.”
“No, Sergeant Buncho. Rachel told me herself. She heard Arnold say he was going to send Paul abroad. Therefore, it must have been Scarface who took him away!” Josie urgently pleaded, “Please tell me where he went. It’s very important to me.”
Scott clearly hesitated to speak, as it went against the rules. However, seeing how agitated Josie was, and considering she couldn’t directly fly out of the country, he reluctantly replied, “The suspected destination is Friyx. However, I’m not sure which city specifically.”
Once abroad, finding him would be like finding a needle in a haystack. Josie took a deep breath, genuinely puzzled as to why Arnold wanted to send Paul away.
After leaving the police station, Josie seemed lost in thought. Moses was driving and making a phone call at the same time, speaking in a low voice. “I hope Mr. Russell is alright.”
Josie slowly snapped back to reality, only asking after the call ended, “What happened to Dexter?”
Moses appeared troubled. “He wouldn’t let me tell you…”
Josie’s face darkened. “Then don’t say anything.”
Moses couldn’t resist and quickly added, “There’s trouble within the organization. Regardless of the power struggle among the higher-ups, I just hope that Mr. Russell can come out on top.”
Dexter seemed invincible.
Josie understood most of it. She pressed her brow, only then realizing that today was Monday, the day of Russell Group’s board meeting.
“Take me to Russell Group,” she said.
Moses was momentarily stunned, but his eyes quickly lit up. “Alright then,” he said, stepping on the gas and speeding away.
The operations at Russell Group were running smoothly. Under the watchful eyes of many, Josie took the elevator all the way up to the top floor. The conference room was filled to capacity, with all ten seats occupied.
Through the floor-to-ceiling window, she could see the man in the main seat. He seemed somewhat distracted, as if he wasn’t paying any attention to the commotion around him.
“I’ve said it before. The current situation of Russell Group requires us to proceed step by step. One must learn to walk before they run. Dexter, you wanted to collaborate with the Olsen family to expand our territory, but what happened? You failed!” A bespectacled elderly man began to speak.
It was none other than Seth. He spoke sternly out of a sense of justice. “Take a look at the current market situation. Russell Group is on the brink of collapse. If we don’t change our strategy soon, we’ll be devoured eventually.”
The directors engaged in a heated discussion, echoing in agreement.
Upon seeing that, the secretarial staff outside couldn’t help but comment, “Such an opportunistic scoundrel.”
Dexter remained silent, twirling a pen in his hand, lost in thought.
“Especially at your wedding. I thought it would be a joyous occasion for all. I didn’t expect such a scene. You were still too immature!”
“I heard that on that day, you already knew and acted deliberately. Is it true?”
The directors closed in relentlessly.
