Chapter 3346 The Opportunity To Audition
Donna hastily reclaimed control over the wheels, bringing the car back to its steady course. After that, she shot a glare at Megan and bellowed, “Megan, I’m driving here! If we die here today, there won’t be any more audition.”
Megan soon realized how dangerous her act was. She quickly sat back in her seat. Still, the excitement never left her face.
In her past life, the female lead of the TV series was an unfamous yet experienced actress with superb acting skills.
This showed that the production crew had high standards for the cast, which explained why The Royal Wife could become so famous.
“Donna, you’re awesome! To be able to star as the female lead of this script would definitely bring my career to the next level!” Megan exclaimed in a frenzy of exaltation.
Donna, too, was happy for her. At the same time, she couldn’t help feeling curious about Megan’s certainty.
When the car pulled up in front of her rental apartment, she turned to face Megan and asked, “This is indeed a huge production, but how are you so sure that it can bring you to the A-list?”
The question threw Megan off balance, and her smile stiffened. She got too excited that she almost blew her own cover.
For a while, she was at a loss, and she avoided looking at Donna directly.
Finally, she managed to come up with something. “Didn’t you say it’s a huge production? I may have exaggerated a bit, but I think it will definitely gain me some popularity.”
Megan tried to maintain her composure. She then gave a rueful chuckle to put her manager off.
Being ingenuous as always, Donna didn’t question further despite the fact that she felt something strange.
Soon after, she followed suit as Megan got out of the car and locked the door.
The two chatted as they went up to the apartment. Donna suddenly realized that this time, she had easily obtained the opportunity to audition for Megan.
She couldn’t help but voice her doubts, “Megan, I encountered something strange today during the contract negotiation.”
Seeing her serious attitude, Megan asked, “What is it? Did anything happen?”
Donna narrowed her eyes as she recalled the negotiation that went strangely smooth. Leaning against the couch, she rested her chin on her hand and slowly said, “It’s nothing important. I just found it a bit strange when the other managers all took a long time to cinch the contracts for their artists, but when it was my turn, it didn’t take long for me to get you the opportunity to audition.”
Megan was surprised to hear that. As far as she knew, the production crew had put much effort into choosing the cast members in this TV series. The investors would only give their approval to sign many of the unpromising actors if the director guaranteed the quality of their acting.
How is it possible that they gave me the opportunity without asking Donna any questions? Shouldn’t they at least interview me?
“Well, that’s indeed weird.” With her brows knotted, Megan fell into deep thoughts.
Perhaps Jake was backing me again, just like how I got the permanent guest host quota for Let’s Run.
Donna seemed to have realized something from the doubtful look on Megan’s face. “Don’t think too much. It’s just the audition. We still don’t know if you can even pass it.”
With that, she ended the topic and turned on the television.
Unlike Megan, as Jacinta’s ex-assistant, Donna knew all the ins and outs in showbiz. It would be a waste if they didn’t make use of their existing connections.
Sitting on the couch, Megan could tell that Donna was unwilling to continue with the topic. She sighed and decided to let it go. Still, the feeling of frustration was hard to ignore.
Nonetheless, any role in The Royal Wife would be a great opportunity for her. She need not be the female lead. As long as the director approved of her acting skills, she would appreciate any role given to her.
The next morning, Megan woke up in Donna’s rental apartment. It had been days since she went back to Jake’s. Since the man was always on business trips, he seldom stayed at home.
