Chapter 3344 Asking Him On A Date
The show recording continued later that day. Since Megan was in a good mood, this time, she finished the shooting in one take.
Jonas had no idea what happened earlier between Megan and Jake, which led to her mood change. Although he was curious, he dared not ask her. He couldn’t help feeling despondent, for he was used to being reserved and taciturn in front of Megan. Perhaps that was the very reason why he couldn’t bring her happiness.
About ten minutes later, everyone was done with their meals. The production crew put down their cameras and were resting. They were prepared to leave.
“That’s it for today! By the way, the shots today are great!”
After going through all the shots, the producer nodded in satisfaction. He handed the camera monitor back to the camera crew’s team leader before dismissing the crew.
Megan let out a deep breath as the day’s shooting ended. She bade Jonas goodbye and went to sit beside Jake when there were no others in the private room.
Jake was scrolling through his phone when she poked the side of his face. “Are you free tonight? I want to go on a date with you.”
The man was left dazed at her straightforwardness. The next moment, he turned off his phone and shifted his eyes to her. Her words brought a smile to his face, and his eyes were full of mirth and surprise.
“Why do you suddenly want to go on a date with me? Usually, you would always try to stay distant with me.”
Megan chuckled, knowing that it was just a tease. She then said cheekily, “Well, we’ll keep some distance in the morning and stay close together at night. It won’t be much of a problem. If I weren’t an actress, I would cling to you day and night.”
Jake felt better after hearing her words. Although he could understand why she was reluctant to make their relationship public, it was still hard for him to accept it.
He gazed lovingly at her. His charming face moved closer to hers as he cooed, “If you are as adorable during the day as you are now, then I won’t need to worry as much.”
Am I really that worrisome?
Megan recalled the times when the two argued. She sure had caused him a lot of headaches in the past. Feeling guilty, she clung to his arms and stuck out her tongue, flashing him a sheepish smile.
“Don’t change the topic. Are you free tonight to go on a date with me or not?”
Jake stroked his chin and thought for a while. Then, he shook his head. “I’ve got a plane to catch tonight. Actually, I’m not here on a business trip, I came here on purpose to see you. I lied because I’m afraid you would be unhappy.”
Megan was slightly disappointed that he would be leaving at night. Even so, her heart leaped with joy to hear that he came for her.
She feigned an angry look and pinched his face. “Hmph! How dare you lie to me! I don’t care. You owe me one, and you’ll have to compensate me in the future.”
There was no trace of anger in her voice. All it was just her trying to act like an adorable child.
Jake’s heart melted, and he couldn’t help but pull her into his arms. The touch of her soft body stirred him.
“Then, how do you want me to compensate you?” he asked.
His eyes were fixated on her flushed cheeks. At that moment, he was tempted to have a taste of her lips to see if it tasted sweet like her.
As for Megan, she felt her entire body was burning, and she unwittingly curled her fingers. Her mind was in such a mess that she couldn’t think of anything.
“I… I don’t know”
Suddenly, Jake decided to stop the flirting. After all, they would be in an awkward position should anyone barged into the private room.
He soon calmed himself down. While caressing her hair, Jake pecked her on the lips. The affection in his eyes almost drowned her.
Megan never thought that Jake would have such a loving side to him.
“Well, save it for next time then. It’s time for me to go now.” With that, the man loosened his grip around her waist before he stood up.
