An Understated Dominance Chapter 2052 by Marina Vittori

“Ah!” Miles clenched his teeth and growled, veins popping on his face.

He tried hard to push the machete away from his shoulder by pressing both hands against his sword. Despite his efforts, the machete stayed in place, and the pressure on it kept growing.

This unyielding force was so powerful that it caused his knees to create cracks in the floor directly beneath them.

The bearded-burly man sneered.”

Hmph! Do you think you’re skilled enough to challenge the Butcher Guild? You’re overestimating yourself!”

“Chief is great!”

“Chief is strong!”

The other burly men couldn’t help but cheer at the situation.

The Butcher Guild was a respectable faction in the North, not to be messed with by someone insignificant.

“You, punk! Trying to act like a hero in front of me is the dumbest thing you’ve ever done. Today, I’ll teach you a lesson by breaking your wrist!” The bearded- burly man grinned wickedly. He swung his machete toward Miles’ wrist.

Just as Miles was about to lose his wrist, an emerald sword suddenly appeared and blocked the machete.

The bearded-burly man furrowed his brow and looked up in surprise.

The woman in emerald held the sword and stared at him coldly.

“Crystal!” Miles was overjoyed when he saw the woman in emerald. He had almost lost his hand a moment ago but was relieved she had shown up just in time.

“Missy, you want to get involved in this?” The bearded-burly man smirked.

Crystal Wesley replied coldly, “How dare you injure Miles! I won’t let you get away with it.”

The girl in red drew her sword and shouted, “That’s right! Scum like you from the martial world should be eradicated!

“Crystal, I’ll help you cleanse the world of this evil!”

Crystal said impassively, “No need. You and Miles stay back. I can handle them on my own.”

“Feeling confident, huh?” The bearded -burly man smirked.

He added, “Missy, with that petite frame of yours, I doubt you can withstand my machete. How about we drop the weapons and have some fun in bed?”

His words sparked laughter among the Butcher Guild’s members, Evil glances continued scrutinizing Crystal, accompanied by various comments.

“Stubborn fool! Today, I’ll take matters into my own hands!” She remained stoic, her expression cold.

Without wasting words, she moved her wrist and skillfully deflected the machete. Then, she swiftly thrust her sword toward the bearded-burly man’s chest and abdomen.

Her strike was fast, silent, and deadly, outclassing Miles’s sword skills by a wide margin.

“Good timing!” Unfazed, the bearded- burly man showed no fear. He swung his machete in the air, making a half- circle motion and poised to intercept Crystal’s sword.

The machete and the sword clashed, producing a light ringing sound. Onlookers believed that the bearded- burly man’s immense strength would surely give him the upper hand in a direct confrontation. However, the reality was different.

The machete did not manage to push back Crystal’s sword. Instead, in the moment of impact, her sword, like a nimble serpent, swiftly thrust toward the machete.

At a breakneck pace, her sword cut a deep wound on the bearded-burly man’s arm, causing blood to flow. Grimacing in pain, he took several steps back to create distance.

However, Crystal didn’t give him a chance. With a quick step, she closed the gap, and her sword thrust toward the bearded-burly man again.

Despite his attempt to block with the machete, she skillfully bounced it away with a flick of her wrist, accurately stabbing into the bearded-burly man’s shoulder.

“W-What!” His expression changed, and he retreated again.

Crystal kept going, swinging her sword and launching precise attacks relentlessly.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
