An Understated Dominance Chapter 2016 by Marina Vittori

If word got out, everyone would be stunned.

“Awesome! That was a great fight!” Sophia squealed in delight. Her eyes lit up as she realized not only was Dustin handsome, but he was also incredibly powerful.

He had a bright future awaiting him. Sophia had to seize her chance and do whatever she could to make him fall in love with her, even if it meant breaking her engagement with Jackson.

“Fuck! He’s at it again!” Garrett snarled, wariness evident in his eyes although he wore a surly expression.

The chances of him getting his revenge were becoming slimmer once Dustin showcased how strong he really was.

At this point, he had given up on the idea of revenge. He just hoped that Dustin wouldn’t come after him.

“And he said he was going to let me strike him thrice first before he made a move. But he can’t even endure a single blow. Well, it seems like the leader of Frostwing Sect isn’t exactly that great either,” Dustin said nonchalantly.

There was a hint of sarcasm in his tone.

The elites of Frostwing Sect were infuriated. Though their faces were scrunched up in anger, they didn’t dare to utter a single word. They were well aware that they wouldn’t stand a chance against Dustin when even their leader had been defeated.

Now, Damien was their only hope. It was possible for him to beat Dustin since he was the top elite in the southwest.

“Master Howler, this brat has gone too far! You have to teach him a lesson to save us from embarrassment!”

“Exactly, Master Howler. His victory was pure luck since he caught Mr. Forge off guard. I’m positive you’ll win once you face off against him!”

“Master Howler, please do us justice!”

All the disciples begged Damien earnestly, trying to ask for his help.

Damien felt it would be tough for him to get out of this situation as he met their hopeful gazes. After all, he wasn’t confident that he would win because he couldn’t exactly tell how strong Dustin was.

If he was unexpectedly defeated, his reputation would be instantly ruined. He would no longer be the ace of the southwest.

Nonetheless, people would point fingers at him if he didn’t do anything when everyone had their attention on him.

Suddenly, he felt at a loss.

“Master Howler, there’s no need to make things difficult for both parties since you weren’t particularly involved in our matters. Why don’t you follow my suggestion earlier, where you can just take half of it?”

Grace attempted to smooth things over when she sensed that it was the right timing to do so.

She could tell that Damien wanted a way out. If she offered him one, they could’ve possibly avoided causing a scene and resulting in less trouble.

“Hmph! Do you still think it’s possible to negotiate with us when you’ve hurt one of us?” one of the guardians of the Drakes Dominion Order chided.

Although Dustin was unexpectedly powerful, he was certain that Damien would win.

“Shut it! You don’t have a say in this,” Damien snapped as he turned back and glared at him.

Quickly, he spun around and smiled at Grace again.

“You’re right. I figure it’d be better for us to prosper together rather than fight to our deaths. So, I agree to your conditions.”

“Master Howler, you are indeed a sensible man. I respect you for that,” Grace replied politely, nodding at him.

“Master Howler, are you really going to negotiate with them?” The same guardian from the Drakes Dominion Order complained.

“Or what? Are you capable enough to fight their grandmaster martial artist?

“Damien retorted defiantly.

“I-” The guardian was silenced.

“That man isn’t to be underestimated. Even if I can win, I’ll probably suffer from a few injuries. It’s dangerous here, and monsters are lurking.

“If I was injured, can you guys handle the situation if we’re in danger? In the end, you’ll still have to rely on me,” Damien said, huffing righteously.

“You’re right, Master Howler. I wasn’t thinking straight,” the guardian replied, not daring to say another word.

He would be doomed if he were to disobey and humiliate Damien again.

“Leave half of the Soul Elixir and jewelry, then you may go, ” Damien remarked as he waved indifferently when in fact, he silently heaved a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, they gave him an out. He was positive that things were going to end badly if he had fought. That brat was truly formidable.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
