An Understated Dominance Chapter 1975 by Marina Vittori

Screams filled the place.

The leader was the only one skillful enough to block all the arrows. Meanwhile, the other members of the Fantasy Sea Alliance were lying in a pool of blood.

“Fuck! How dare you kill my members! Just wait for it. I’ll be back!” After the leader yelled this, he quickly ran away.

“Jackson, don’t let him get away!” Sophia immediately shouted.

“You bastard! Let’s see how you’re going to escape.” Without even thinking about it, Jackson ran after him with his sword.

Then, they engaged in a fight.

The leader of Fantasy Sea Alliance was indeed capable. However, he still could not be compared to a gifted martial artist like Jackson.

After the duo exchanged several moves, Jackson knocked him to the ground, risking his arm getting slashed in the process.

Then, Jackson pressed the long knife against his neck, causing him unable to move.

“Please! Please don’t kill me I know I was wrong! I have a wife and a newborn child. Please spare my life. I promise to turn over a new leaf!” The leader pleaded desperately.

“You know about the consequences, so why do this in the first place?” Jackson’s expression was indifferent.

“It’s not like I have a choice in the martial arts world! I was also forced into this situation. If you let me go, I can give you all the treasures I’ve acquired!” the leader begged sadly.

“You-” Just as Jackson was about to say something, a flash from a blade could be seen. A long knife had suddenly pierced into the leader’s chest.

The person who made the move was Sophia!

“Jackson, why are you talking so much nonsense? You should just kill shameless people like him!” Sophia had an indifferent expression.

Sophia seemed dissatisfied as she delivered several more blows to him. She finally stopped after the man became motionless.

Jackson furrowed his eyebrows, but he didn’t say anything else. The members of Fantasy Sea Alliance deserved to die from the atrocities they had committed.

“Jackson, thank you. I would have been in danger if you didn’t make a move just now.” Sophia tucked away her knife and shot a grateful smile to Jackson.

They couldn’t deny that Sophia was beautiful and had a graceful demeanor. With just a simple smile, the unpleasant feelings Jackson felt before had dissipated.

“It’s nothing. Just a small effort from my side.” Jackson smiled.

“Ms. Jaden, Jackson risked his life to save you. How about you? You escaped without informing us! Do you think what you did was right?” an Emberson Steel’s disciple questioned angrily.

Although the others didn’t say anything, their expressions were grim.

Obviously, all of them felt dissatisfied by how ungrateful Sophia was.

“Don’t misunderstand. I only retreated just now as I knew I was exhausted and could be no help to you all. I would just be a burden if I stayed there.

“It was a difficult decision for me, but I had to leave to not distract you all. Rest assured. I don’t have any ulterior motives behind my actions,” Sophia replied righteously.

“Are you saying that we should thank you?” the disciple from Emberson Steel mocked.

“You’re being too serious. Emberson Steel always has a good relationship with Harmony Sect. It’s only natural for us to aid each other.

“If I had done anything wrong, please forgive me.” Sophia clasped her hands together earnestly, looking pitiful.

“You-” Just as the disciple was about to speak, Jackson interrupted him by raising his hand. “Alright! What’s done is done. As long as Sophia is safe, that’s all that matters.”

“Thank you for your understanding!” Sophia nodded, seemingly extremely grateful.

However, a subtle smile flashed by the moment she lowered her head.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
