An Understated Dominance Chapter 1970 by Marina Vittori

“Helped you?” Everyone looked around curiously after hearing Aidan’s words.

All of them were busy escaping just now. They didn’t have the time to think about anything else.

Perhaps something had happened just now.

“Mr. Ridge, your skills are superb. I doubt you’ll need any of our help.”

“That’s right. We wouldn’t be much help in a battle of your level.”

“Mr. Ridge, did someone step in and affect your performance just now? How terrible of them!”

Not knowing what happened, the crowd gossiped among themselves.

They thought that only a grandmaster martial artist like Aidan would have the ability to defeat the vines.

If Aidan didn’t make a move just now, many people would be dead right now.

“Mr. Ridge, what happened?” Jackson tried asking.

“Nothing… Nothing much. Since nobody admitted to it, it’s fine.” Aidan shook his head without another word.

He was just probing with his question earlier, not expecting an outcome from it. Aidan couldn’t accept if an ultimate grandmaster was hidden among them, either.

Thus, Aidan only reckoned that a capable martial artist happened to pass by and save him. If Aidan had the chance to meet the person again, he would definitely repay him for his kindness.

“Mr. Ridge, thank you. Here’s the Draken Rope that you want.” Grace walked up and passed the Draken Rope which she had prepared.

Aidan was moved. After hesitating for two seconds, he took the rope from Grace’s hands. Draken Rope was a treasure that he had sought out for a long time. Thus, he naturally wouldn’t refuse it. If the capable martial artist did appear, Aidan would find another way to compensate him.

“Little Miss, thank you. Since you’ve kept your promise, do come and look for me if you run into any trouble!”

Aidan smiled in satisfaction.

Although Aidan had been in a life-and- death situation just now, it was worth it as he got such a valuable treasure.

Looking at Aidan’s excited look, Dustin raised his eyebrows. Dustin was shocked that Aidan actually accepted it. Aidan almost lost his life just now. Yet, all he could think about was the Draken Rope.

If Dustin hadn’t considered the situation, he would have been reluctant for Grace to give out such a treasure.

“Everyone, it’s not safe to stay here for too long. Let’s find a safer place to discuss.”

Grace didn’t dwell on these matters. Instead, she urged everyone to leave the dangerous area. They had been constantly fighting since the night fell, leaving no time for them to rest.

In the beginning, everyone was just looking from the sidelines. However, the weird vines almost wiped them all out.

More than ten people were killed after the battle. Among them, there were Embersteel Order’s disciples, members of the Black Scorpion Squad, and Grace’s envoy team. There were many casualties and injuries on their team.

They had lost over a dozen people in just the first night. There would be more casualties to come. At this moment, everyone knew that this treasure-hunting journey was filled with danger!

After changing a place to rest, everyone no longer had the desire to sleep. Thus, they stayed up until the morning.

As the first rays of sunlight penetrated through the split of the leaves, everyone couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief. It was as if they had survived a disaster.

The night was lurking with danger, making it extremely difficult to endure..

They had to be cautious against all kinds of monsters at all times.

In such an environment, everyone felt stressed out.

They could finally feel at ease when the morning came.

Most of the monsters would only come out at night. Thus, it was way safer and quieter during the morning.

“Start the fire to make food! We’ll continue on our journey once we’re done eating!” Under Grace’s command, all of her subordinates started to busy themselves.

Although the oasis was dangerous, they still had to do what they had to- search for treasures.

Nobody had a choice at such a stage. They could only grit their teeth and move forward.

On one hand, they had to make money. On the other hand, they wanted to have a bigger chance of surviving.

Following the main team and having a grandmaster martial artist guide them would ensure them a better chance of survival.

Not only would they miss out on opportunities if they gave up halfway, but they would be in danger if they bumped into a monster on the way back.

After satisfying their hunger, the team moved further into the oasis under Grace’s leadership.

Everyone became extra cautious this time. They proceeded carefully with each step, fearing to bump into anything nearby.

Just like that, they continued to walk for another two hours.

Suddenly, shouts could be heard from far away. Grace immediately raised her head and gestured for everyone to stop.

Then, she sent someone to check on what was happening.

About 15 minutes later, the spy returned and told what happened. “Ms. Linsor, two forces ahead are fighting. It seems like they’re fighting over a treasure.”

Grace raised her eyebrows. “Fighting over treasures? Can you tell what it is?”

“I was afraid of getting caught, so I didn’t get too close. Thus, I don’t know what exactly is the treasure,” the spy replied.

“Guys, what do you think?” Grace turned around to ask what the others thought.

“I think we should go and take a look since there’s treasure.” Aidan’s answer was straightforward.

“I agree with Mr. Ridge. Since everyone is here to hunt for treasures, we can’t miss out on any.” Jackson nodded.

“Nothing will happen if we just go and take a look. After all, we can retreat if necessary,” Garrett agreed.

“Okay. Let’s go and take a look!” Grace immediately commanded the team to head forward.

She needed to confirm for herself if the treasure the two forces were fighting over was the Dracan essence.

When everyone arrived at the scene, they found several martial artists surrounding a few young women and men. There were even several corpses around them, indicating that a brutal battle had taken place.

By working together, the few young men and women actually managed to fight against the several martial artists.

Unfortunately, it was difficult for them to fight against so many people. As time passed, the few young men and women succumbed to fatigue and started to sustain injuries.

If they continued to fight, all of them would be wiped out in less than half an hour.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
