An Understated Dominance Chapter 1968 by Marina Vittori

The initial assault proved ineffective, prompting the golden vines to launch another attack. The front end of the vine elevated, resembling a fully drawn bowstring.

After a moment of gathering strength, it struck down toward Aidan in the crater.

The follow-up strike demonstrated increased speed and force compared to the previous one.

Before reaching full power, the air itself seemed to tear apart, resonating with the anticipation of the impending strike.

The velocity and strength exhibited by the golden vines far exceeded those of the silver ones. Each strike carried a seismic impact as if the earth trembled.

Aidan noticed the approaching golden vines and chose not to confront them again. With a strong push from his legs, he moved sideways.

At that moment, the powerful strike of the golden vines hit precisely where he had been standing moments ago. The impact was thunderous, shaking the earth and creating a powerful shockwave. It resembled a gust of wind clearing away fallen leaves.

The newly formed crater sank several feet again, leaving a deep trench that seemed to appear out of nowhere.

Aidan staggered back, shaken by the powerful force. As he looked at the spot he had just vacated, he couldn’t help but feel fortunate to have avoided a direct hit, which could have been fatal.

Although the persistent golden vines missed their initial target, they continued their pursuit. The vines transformed into a menacing whip, sweeping along the ground, ruthlessly lashing out at him.

In their wake, the ground lost a substantial layer, and debris, mixed with mud, flew toward him like projectiles.

“W-What?” Aidan’s frown deepened as he pushed off the ground, using both feet to leap into the air and evade the sweeping attack of the golden vines.

At the same time, the silver vines in the surroundings sprang to life, thrusting relentlessly toward him like spears while he remained suspended mid-air.

Wielding his dual blades, he created a swirling circle of blade aura around him, efficiently severing the assaulting silver vines. Just as he thought he had dealt with the silver vines, the golden ones on the ground quickly launched another attack.

The golden vines shot up like massive pillars before slamming down toward him. Caught in mid-air and still dealing with the silver vines, Aidan found himself unable to evade, forced to watch as the golden vines smashed down upon him.

“Crap! It’s do or die!” He gritted his teeth, making a decisive move as he unleashed his renowned technique. ” Destruction Slash!”

Crossing his dual blades, Aidan infused them with internal energy before swiftly swinging toward the golden vines.

Instantly, two crescent-shaped blade auras shot out, forming an “X” and slashing rapidly at the golden vines.

The blades grew larger in the wind, transforming into massive waves that reached 30 feet in a blink. This sudden change doubled their destructive power.

The golden vines faced Aidan’s slashing blades head-on and took a solid hit without evading.

Subsequently, two explosions resonated as the heavy impact caused the two massive crescent waves to explode, dispersing into the sky. 1

Despite Aidan’s powerful strike, he couldn’t penetrate the defense of the golden vines. The attack only managed to slightly impede their movement, leaving two faint marks on their surface.

“What the heck?” Aidan’s expression changed as he observed the relentless golden vines.

At that point, evasion wasn’t an option. He had to brace himself, confronting the situation by wielding his blades. The golden vines struck his dual blades with great force, resulting in a powerful impact. Upon contact, he was forcefully thrown backward and propelled several feet as if by an immense power.

Eventually, he crashed heavily onto the ground. With blood trickling from his nose and mouth, his entire body experienced a momentary paralysis, leaving him looking thoroughly disheveled.

Aidan tried to stand, but before he could, the golden vines struck again, this time with even more force. The attack was swift and powerful, surpassing the intensity of the previous assault.

His energy churned inside him, rendering his limbs feeble and unresponsive. Completely immobilized, he could only watch as the golden vines descended upon him, fear evident in his expression.

Aidan, a grandmaster martial artist, never anticipated the formidable might of the golden vines. The setback he faced was beyond his expectations.

Helplessly, he could only watch as the vines slammed down on him.

Had he known, he shouldn’t have interfered in the first place. Knowing he could have easily escaped on his own, he questioned why bother with the life and death of others.

“Ah!” Aidan involuntarily let out a roar. He exerted all his strength to lift his arms in a final struggle.

Just as he was prepared for an imminent collision, a swift black sword aura emerged from the distance. It swiftly struck the golden vines with tremendous speed.

The black sword aura effortlessly cut through the golden vines, its trajectory continuing until it disappeared into the darkness.

With a sharp, tearing noise, the golden vines split in two as the black sword aura pierced through them. The separated segment crashed to the ground, mere feet from Aidan.

The primary section of the golden vine, firmly anchored to the ground, writhed violently, resembling a thrashing python. It relentlessly expelled golden fluid, some of which splattered onto his face.

Aidan gasped in shock at the unfolding scene. His mind went blank, struggling to process the events.

Questions swirled in his head about what had just happened and how the golden vine got severed by the sword.

Aidan couldn’t believe it – he had just witnessed the incredible resilience of those golden vines. Despite his strongest efforts, he couldn’t make a dent.

Then, out of nowhere, a black sword aura appeared and effortlessly sliced through the sturdy vines, like cutting through a tomato.

The sheer destructive force of the event left him astonished. He couldn’t help but wonder about the person possessing such formidable strength.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
