An Understated Dominance Chapter 1474 by Marina Vittori

Ezra and Eleanor didn’t expect so many wealthy people to support Camron Medicals’ launch. They began to grow anxious. If this were to carry on, they were beginning to doubt whether they would win.

“Gentlemen, thank you for showing up and giving us your support. Please, head on in.” Lana and Matteo beamed from ear to ear as they welcomed the guests and invited them in for a seat.

The Welch and Swanson families dominated the market in South City. With just the Camrons’ abilities alone, they would not have been able to get much support.

But now that they had help from the Dawson family, many of the wealthy merchants from Easy City turned up to support them. Had it not been for the Dawsons, Camron Medicals would have lost terribly.

“I never expected you to be prepared for this, Mr. Dawson. I guess now we can have a proper fight against the Welch and Swanson families!” Lana smiled brightly.

“These are all Dustin’s arrangements. I’m only doing things according to his plan.” Bo twirled a lighter around in his hand.

“Oh?” Lana raised a brow and looked at Dustin in astonishment. “How’d you know that the Welch and Swanson families were going to do something like this, Dustin?” 1

“Those ploys they’re trying aren’t exactly brilliant to begin with.” Dustin smiled.

“Besides, even if they weren’t going to do that, we’d be making good publicity for Dew Balm to invite these people to the launch. There was nothing wrong to invite them.”

“That makes sense.” Lana nodded before glancing over at Eleanor and Ezra.

She smiled and asked meaningfully, ” Ms. Welch, Mr. Swanson, not too sure who will win the bet anymore, don’t you think?”

Though the Welch and Swanson families came prepared, it seemed that Dustin had been one step ahead of them.

“Hmph! Don’t be too happy just yet! We’re still in the lead now!” Eleanor huffed.

“That’s right! We’ve got a lot of connections! Victory will surely be ours at the end of the day!” Ezra puffed his chest out confidently.

The Dawson family might have gotten the support of many wealthy figures, but ultimately, there was a limit on how many connections a single family had.

Since the Welch and Swanson families had joined hands, their connections and influence were much more than the Dawson family’s. Even if they had to compete financially, they had a high chance of winning, too.

“They’re just a bunch of insignificant people who aren’t worth mentioning. The real show’s just about to begin.”

Dustin flashed a slight smile.

“Hah! Stop acting all mysterious. No matter what powers you think you have, you’re still bound to lose today!” Eleanor shouted.

He had just finished speaking when a Rolls-Royce Phantom pulled up by the roadside. Soon after, a middle-aged man with a stubble came down from the car.

He had a squarish face and bold features. Even without showing any emotions, he gave off a commanding presence. His every move seemed to show what a formidable person he was.

Alistair’s brows furrowed when he saw the man. His expression fell instantly. Matteo, on the other hand, was elated. He looked like a kid on Christmas morning.

“Ethan Langford from the Langford family here to congratulate you on your launch and wish you a booming business!” the middle-aged man said. A commotion broke out among onlookers.

“What? Ethan Langford? Isn’t that the leader of the Langford family?”

“The Langford family is the head of Oakvale’s eight great families, and Ethan is a first-ranking minister! It speaks volumes about Camron Medicals for someone of his position to turn up and show their support!”

“My goodness! What exactly is going on? It seems like all the rich and powerful of the elite circle are here!”

Chaos descended over the crowd when they learned about Ethan’s arrival. The Langfords were acknowledged to be the strongest family out of the eight great families in Oakvale. Not only were they filthy rich, but they also had powers beyond any of the other families.1

Even among the eight great families, they were undoubtedly the most prestigious.

No one had expected Ethan Langford, who rarely showed up in public, to make an appearance in support of Camron Medicals. It was truly shocking!

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
