An Understated Dominance Chapter 1449 by Marina Vittori

Dante gritted his teeth and clenched his fists, anger written all over his face. How could a disciple of the prestigious Fallon family flee from a fight? This was a disgrace!

Most importantly, he fled in the presence of the Duke of Lachshire. If news spread out, it would tarnish the reputation of the Fallons, one of the ancient houses.

“Sir Dante, your nephew is quite smart! He knows when to give in,” Natasha teased. Dante’s eye twitched, and his expression turned sour. This was truly humiliating!

“Go and bring Dexter back here! He will suffer under the house law!” Dante shouted at the other Fallon disciples.

“Yes, sir!” They didn’t dare to hesitate and immediately scattered, searching for Dexter everywhere. They knew that Dexter had landed himself in big trouble this time. He would probably face severe consequences if not death.

“I’ve always heard that the men of the Fallon family were brave and fearless. But what I’ve seen today has disappointed me,” Simon remarked casually. He had traveled quite a distance for this event but didn’t even get to witness a fight. It was such a waste of time.

“I apologize that you had to witness that, My Lord. We are to blame for not being strict with our teachings and raising such a coward.” Dante smiled apologetically.

“Forget it, I’ve lost interest anyway.”

Simon dusted his clothes off and stood up slowly from his seat. “Sweetheart, it seems like there’s nothing else to see here today. Let’s head back.”

“I guess that’s the case.” Natasha nodded in agreement.

“My Lord, leaving so soon? Aren’t you in too much of a rush?” Suddenly, a group of people walked in through the door.

The person leading the group was a tall, middle-aged man with a slender build and fair complexion. He seemed to carry himself elegantly and was followed by two men and a woman.

One of the men was unmistakably Dexter, who had just escaped moments ago.

“Griffin?” Dante’s complexion improved when he saw the refined man. He hurried up to him and asked, ” Griffin, what brings you here?”

“The Duke of Lachshire has come for a visit. It’s only proper that I personally come to welcome him,” Griffin Fallon, Dante’s eldest brother, replied with a smile.

He then turned to Simon and greeted respectfully, “Greetings, My Lord.”

“There’s no need for such formality, Sir Fallon.” Simon nodded in response. Griffin was a first-ranking official. His current position might be slightly lower than Simon’s, but his younger age made him stand out. The royal family also favored him.

He could potentially surpass Simon’s career in the future.

“It’s rare to see you interested in a duel among the youth, My Lord. No matter what, I must ensure you will enjoy it.”

As Griffin spoke, he glanced back at the meek Dexter. “Dexter, as a member of the Fallon family, you can suffer heavy injuries, but you must never lose your integrity.

“Go up there and have a match with that young man. Regardless of the outcome, you must uphold the honor of the Fallons. Do you understand?”

“I understand…” Dexter was aggrieved.

He was currently shaking like a leaf. He had thought he managed to escape a dire situation, but to his surprise, Griffin had caught him right as he escaped the toilet.

Dexter was even more fearful because Griffin didn’t get angry at him. Griffin always maintained a calm and composed demeanor, never showing anger, regardless of the situation.

However, the entire Fallon family, Dante included, deeply respected Griffin. Nobody knew why exactly, but they were fearful of him.

No one in the family dared stand against Griffin’s orders. They would obey even if they were instructed to sacrifice their own lives.

“Dustin! Let’s do this! Show me how capable you are!” Dexter stepped forward, looking determined and ready to face the worst consequence.

“Have you forgotten that you’ve already lost once? Do you want to lose a second time?” Dustin asked calmly.

“Cut the crap! Today, only one of us can walk away from here! Take this!”

Dexter roared as he charged forward. Since he knew that escaping was futile, he decided to give it all he had.

“Fiery Storm technique!” As he got closer to Dustin, Dexter unleashed his ultimate skill without a second thought.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
