An Understated Dominance Chapter 1448 by Marina Vittori

Dante glared at Dexter as he said, ” Today is a golden opportunity for you to redeem yourself.

“If you manage to defeat Dustin and overcome your inner demons, your martial arts cultivation will reach new heights!”

Dexter flinched. He wanted to retort but was too cowardly to do so. He could only beg, “Uncle Dante, I haven’t healed from my previous injuries. Why don’t you get someone else to go?”

“What do you mean someone else? You just suffered minor injuries. Go up now lest you embarrass us!” Dante rebuked.

“A-Alright…” Dexter looked miserable as he entered the battle ring. Why did he end up being implicated in this situation? His sole intention had been to just watch Dustin make a fool of himself.

“Dexter, are you sure you want to fight me?” Dustin smiled slyly.

“Dustin Rhys! The men of the Fallon family never back down from a duel. Even though I’m heavily injured, I’m not afraid of you! Give me the best you’ve got!” Dexter maintained a brave facade.

However, he was crying inside, “Buddy, go easy on me! We have nothing against each other. There’s no need for us to fight to the death. A couple of showy moves would suffice. I’ll treat you to a meal next time!”

“Wow! What a man!” Dustin gave him a thumbs-up.

“I underestimated you before, but you’ve got some guts. Impressive!”

“Hmph! Of course!” Dexter raised his head arrogantly, feeling smug.

“Men like you are rare! To show my respect, I’ll give it my all from here on out. Let’s embrace whatever fate awaits us!”

“What?” Dexter’s legs went weak, and he almost collapsed to the ground.

“Buddy, did you have to take me seriously? I was just joking!” Dexter thought to himself. Even Samson, who had a nearly impenetrable defense, was defeated by a single punch. He would undoubtedly suffer a worse fate than Samson did.

“Dexter, are you ready? I’m coming at you!” Dustin slowly raised his fists.

“Wait!” Dexter’s expression changed rapidly. He quickly stammered, “I-I suddenly have a t-terrible stomachache and need to use the restroom urgently! W- We’ll duel after I’ve finished my business!”

Without waiting for a response, he dashed off to the toilet. Dustin smirked, choosing not to expose bic obvious excuse.

“Hmph! What a pathetic excuse!” Dante scowled, visibly irritated.

The other Fallon disciples looked embarrassed by Dexter’s excuse but wisely decided to remain silent. They knew that Dexter was intentionally trying to buy time.

After witnessing Samson’s misfortune, they were not eager to enter the battle ring just to be beaten up. The best-case scenario would end with them having a few broken bones, while the worst case could be death.

Their only hope was for Declan to arrive soon. Otherwise, Dexter would never be able to escape his fate.

“Sir Dante, why is your nephew not out yet? Did he faint inside?” After a long wait, Natasha finally spoke.

“You, go and get Dexter over here!” Dante frowned, pointing to a disciple.

“Yes, sir.” The disciple ran for the toilet immediately.

It wasn’t long before he returned in panic, exclaiming, “Uncle Dante! I’ve got bad news. Dexter has disappeared!”

“Disappeared?” Dante was taken aback, struggling to understand what was happening.

“What do you mean?”

“I tried looking for him in the toilet, but he was nowhere to be found. I suspect… he might have run away!” the disciple replied.

“What? He ran away!” Dante stood blankly on the spot. He had thought Dexter was merely stalling for time. He didn’t expect he would make a run for it.

This was truly a disgrace!

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
