An Understated Dominance Chapter 1348 by Marina Vittori

An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori Chapter 1348

There were around a dozen gaming tables offering different games, and the guests scattered across different tables.

In the VIP lounge, guests had a beautiful waitress attending exclusively to their needs as they gambled. It was the epitome of excellent customer service.

Only the rich and famous could enter the VIP lounge. The simplest bet could casually start with hundreds of thousands or even millions.

For the generous ones, they would even wager tens of millions and hundreds of millions. This was something a commoner could never achieve in their lifetime.

Dustin immediately spotted two familiar figures seated at the central table as soon as he entered the VIP lounge. It was Cody and Harper, With Harper’s status, it was obvious  that she couldn’t have entered the VIP lounge alone. Cody must be the person who wanted to meet him.

“Hey! Dustin’s here! Join us! Let’s play a few rounds.” Cody immediately stood up and welcomed Dustin enthusiastically.

Though he wore a friendly smile, there was a hint of chilliness in his eyes.

“Mr. Ostrower, what is the real purpose of our meeting?” Dustin asked frankly. “There’s no need to rush. Let’s play a few rounds before we get to it.” Cody smiled and snapped his fingers at the waitress next to him.

“Get five million worth of gambling chips for this gentleman and put it on my tab.”

“Got it.” The beautiful waitress responded quickly and soon returned with a few dozen crystal chips.

“Dustin, please enjoy yourself today. If you win, you can take it all. I’ll foot the bill if you lose.” Cody laughed and said generously.

“I don’t like gambling. Nor do I like beating around the bush. Please tell me the purpose of this meeting now.”

Dustin wasn’t impressed. This place was a gambler’s heaven. It was too bad that he wasn’t interested at all. “You’re really a straightforward person, Dustin.” Cody laughed awkwardly.

“I asked you to meet me today because I wanted to introduce you to someone influential in Millsburg. If he’s got your back, you can practically do anything you want in this area!”

“Is that so? Who might that be?” Dustin asked.

“This person is the owner of the Golden Balcony, Pablo Hans!” Cody introduced proudly.

“Sorry, I’ve never heard of him,” Dustin replied casually.

“Hmph! You don’t even know who Mr. Hans is. You’re such a bumpkin!” Harper, who was seated on the side, frowned to show her disapproval.

In Millsburg, Mr. Hans was a revered and powerful figure. He was the only one who could openly challenge the Swanson and Welch family.

Those who knew their way around must have heard of Mr. Hans.

“Is Mr. Hans really this amazing? Do you think he could survive a blow from my sword?” Maximus said coldly.

“Dustin, is this your friend?” Cody looked him up and down with an unfriendly gaze.

“Hey, you! You’d better keep a lid on it. The whole city belongs to Mr. Hans. You might lose your life if you aren’t careful.”

Maximus was about to retort, but Dustin raised his hand and stopped him. “I’m not interested in knowing Mr. Hans. I just want to find out about Cinna Shaffer.”

The door to the VIP lounge swung open suddenly as soon as he said that. A tall and strappy middle-aged man in a suit walked in with his nose in the air and a cigar between his lips. He looked as burly as a bear.

His presence was very imposing even though he was just standing there. This man was the owner of the Golden Balcony and the king of Millsburg’s underworld, Pablo Hans!

“Mr. Hans has arrived. It’s your lucky day!” Cody flashed him a sinister smile and looked as if something interesting was about to happen.

“Hello, Mr. Hans!”

“Good evening, Mr. Hans!”

When Pablo walked through the door, the guests in the VIP lounge got up to greet him respectfully.

“As you were, please.” Pablo stretched his hands out and lowered them. He then walked toward Cody and said loftily, “Cody, where is the person I wanted to see?”

“When have I ever failed you?” Cody smirked secretly and gestured toward Dustin.

“Here, he’s the person you’re looking for!”

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
