An Understated Dominance Chapter 1347 by Marina Vittori

An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori Chapter 1347

Dustin didn’t force Caitlyn to stay at the five-star hotel. Instead, he took them to another suburb further away from the city and bought a bungalow there.

It was fully furnished with two stories and a small garden. They could move in right away after paying for the house.

Dustin had been thinking about it. He knew staying at hotels or renting rooms would be inconvenient as he planned to stay longer in Oakvale. With that, he bought a bungalow to make things easier. He had a lot of money anyway.

Caitlyn felt much better once they moved into the bungalow. She was glad to find out that it was a good investment, as the property prices around Oakvale were on the rise.

Besides, they could save more by cooking at home. It was a sweet deal. Once the house had been paid for, Dustin took both of them to buy daily necessities and showed them around the neighborhood.

It was already nightfall when they finally settled in the new house. Dustin and Maximus were both starving at the end of the day. It was good that Caitlyn was considerate and bought groceries to make them a sumptuous feast for dinner.

She made soup, steak, and salad for them. It was a well-balanced and appetizing meal. They had to admit that Caitlyn was a good cook. She only used simple ingredients, but the dishes tasted impeccable.

Dustin was a little embarrassed that he wasn’t as good as she was in the kitchen. After the meal, Caitlyn took the initiative to clean up. Dustin and Maximus went to the balcony for a chat and to enjoy the scenery.

Suddenly, Dustin’s phone started ringing. As soon as he answered the call, he could hear a cold but familiar voice. It was Harper calling.

“Dustin, can you come to the Golden Balcony? I have something to tell you.”

“You could just tell me right now while we’re on the call. I’m very busy and have no time to go over where you are,” Dustin replied calmly.

“This is something very important. You’ll regret it if you don’t come over!” Harper sounded serious.

“I will hang up if you do not tell me anything.” Dustin didn’t want to continue the conversation. He had never liked her.

“Hold on! Don’t you want to know why Cinna Shaffer is with Harmony Healers? Harper quickly said.

“What?” Dustin narrowed his eyes.

“What do you mean? Explain!”

“I know some secrets about Cinna Shaffer. Meet me at the Golden Balcony before nine tonight. I won’t be waiting past nine!” Harper said.

“Alright, I’ll be there soon,” Dustin replied. Harper must have an ulterior motive for asking to meet him at such a late hour. Regardless, it didn’t bother him much. He was more intrigued by the secrets.

Could it be that Brooke had hidden some information from him?

“Maximus, come with me,” Dustin said, bringing Maximus along. There were too many mysteries surrounding that incident, and Cinna was his only clue to solving it. Before Cinna woke up, he couldn’t afford to miss any related information.

They arrived at the Golden Balcony within half an hour. On the surface, the Golden Balcony was a club. However, it was just a front for an underground casino. Only members were allowed to enter, and no commoner could enter as they pleased.

Gambling was prohibited in Oakvale. The mastermind of this underground casino was a powerful person, running a luxurious casino in the center of Millsburg without fearing law enforcement.

Harper must have informed the reception before their arrival. They were able to enter the club as soon as they introduced themselves.

They followed the waiter and walked past the fancy and bustling hall before being led to a VIP lounge.

The VIP lounge was very different compared to the hustle and bustle of the gambling hall. It was quiet and decorated with a classical charm.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
