An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori Chapter 1276

“I’m just offering you some advice because the patient will die if you use the wrong method. And if that happens, you’ll regret not listening to me,” Dustin said “Hah! That’s rubbish!” Caldwell snapped rudely.

“Dr. Busch personally taught me this method to save patients. It has worked every single time without fail! Do you think that you’re better than Dr. Busch?

“There is no hard and fast way to save a patient. You must consider the situation before using a certain method. You must be adaptable,” Dustin reminded him.

“Shut up! One more word from you, and I’ll throw you out!” Caldwell’s embarrassment fueled the anger within him. He was Dr. Busch’s star apprentice who would be in charge of running Harmony Healers in the future!

How dare a nobody tell him what to do? He thought too highly of himself!

“Well, have it your way then.” Dustin shook his head, saying nothing more.

“Cut the crap! Save her!” the head bodyguard urged. Caldwell suppressed the anger within him and began focusing on saving the patient.

When he saw that his current method wasn’t working, he tried several other methods to drain Eleanor of the water in her stomach.

He looked like a frantic mess, jumping around and striking her on the back. He tried everything he could think of, but nothing seemed to work.

Eleanor’s face looked even more pale, and the purple patches turned darker. She was no longer breathing, and even her pulse had stopped.

“Stop! Stop it right this instant!” Seeing that things didn’t look right, the head bodyguard immediately stopped Caldwell.

Then, he went forward and checked Eleanor’s pulse. The color drained from his face instantly. “Sh-sh-she doesn’t have a pulse anymore!”

“What?” A commotion broke out among the onlookers. After Caldwell’s attempts to save her, none of them had expected her to lose her life!

“What happened? How could this be?”

Caldwell was stunned as he stood rooted in place. He didn’t know what to do anymore. He had done what Dr. Busch had taught him. But why was the patient dead now?

“You quack doctor!” When reality sank in, the head bodyguard roared and hit Caldwell across the face.

“You killed Ms Welch! You quack doctor! “I’ll make you pay for it with your life! I’ll make the whole of Harmony Healers pay!”

“What?” Caldwell’s legs gave way, he fell to the ground in a sitting position, ashen-faced. and He was done for. He was certainly done for now.

He’d just killed the daughter of the Welch family. There was nothing he could do to make up for it. What he had thought was the opportunity of a lifetime had now turned into a disaster that would cost him his life.

“Boys! Tear the place down! I want all the swindling doctors here tied up! Do not let even a single one of them go!”

Anguished and furious, the head bodyguard ordered the rest of the bodyguards to tear Harmony Healers down. “Hang on!”

Seeing that things were about to get out of hand, Dustin suddenly stood up and said, “Ms. Welch isn’t dead yet. I can help her!”

“She doesn’t even have a pulse anymore! How can you help her?” The head bodyguard gritted his teeth.

“A person has five minutes to be resuscitated after he dies. If the right method is used, she can survive!” Dustin said gravely.

“Why should I trust you?” The head bodyguard asked with a dark expression on his face.

“Because you have no other alternative. I’m your only hope now,” Dustin answered frostily. After taking two seconds to contemplate his options, the head bodyguard finally clenched his jaw and nodded.

“Alright. I’ll give you a chance to make things right. If you still can’t bring Ms. Welch back to life, I’ll see to it that you go down together with Harmony Healers!”

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
