The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 929

Mya poked her head out and was ready to escape without changing her clothes. Then, someone appeared at the corner of the corridor, “Ms. Harper.”

Mya stopped walking. She turned her head to look behind, “Kevin? Didn’t you leave?”

Kevin responded, “Ms. Harper, don’t worry. You’re safe now.”

Mya happily walked toward him, “Did Madelyn ask you to come pick me up?” Kevin did not nod or shake his head. He just said, “If you feel safe with me, you can leave the hospital with me.”

Mya vigorously nodded, “Sure, I’ll leave with you.”

Kevin noticed the part between her legs was wet. He then took a step back, “Ms. Harper, you should change your clothes.”

Mya looked down and explained embarrassedly, “You don’t know how scary he was. I couldn’t hold it. Also… My mom taught me this. If peeing couldn’t scare him away, I was even thinking of pooping.”

Kevin took another step back, “The Harper family is quite reputable in Ventropolis. You should at least take care of your reputation when you’re out. Mya poked her fingers against each other, “But my mom said doing this could scare away bad people.”

Kevin stared at her harmless expression. He remained silent for a few seconds before responding, “I’m sorry, Ms. Harper. I spoke thoughtlessly.”

Mya shook her head and said gently, ” It’s okay. You’re a good person.”

Kevin had never seen someone as innocent and naive as her. After Mya changed her clothes, Kevin took her to Floral Loft.

He said, “I need you to stay here and not go out for the next few days. Once the bad people stop looking for you, I’ll send you back home.”

Mya unconditionally trusted people connected to Madelyn. She vigorously nodded, “Yes, I understand. I won’t leave.”

Kevin handed her a key and added, ” Blake will be here to accompany you.”

Mya responded, “That’s great.”

She was still unaware that she was being used. After Kevin left Floral Loft, he rushed back to the company.

In the CEO’s office, Kevin said, “Mr. Jardin, Mya is settled down. But it seems like Fred has become disgusted with her. All of his men have left.”

Jardin was signing a document with his delicate hand. He asked without lifting his head, “Who else knows about her situation besides you?”

Kevin responded, “No one knows. I’ve already instructed Blake to take care of Mya during her time at Floral Loft. With her there, Mya won’t simply go elsewhere.

“Should we inform the Harper family about her?

“Simon has suffered a heart attack and been hospitalized because of the news of Mya being taken away.”

After Zach finished signing, he capped his pen and said, “You don’t need to tell anyone about her. I have my arrangements.”

Kevin nodded, “Okay.”

He thought, ‘What does he want to use Mya for? Could it be…”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
