The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 921 by Max Charming

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 921

Fred continued thinking, ‘She has a bad memory, after all. She’ll forget everything that happened.’ However, this time, he had overestimated himself and underestimated the importance of that photo to Mya.

Riley went upstairs and knocked on the door. When he entered the room, he saw Fred wearing a bathrobe looking gloomy. He suppressed his voice and reported, “Mr. Turner, he’s here.”

The villa occupied half of the prison area. It was very late now. Fred glanced at the dark corridor. He decided to keep walking.

He then went to the dark, damp prison. Luke was awakened by a bone-chilling bucket of cold water. He immediately saw Fred sitting in a chair and asked, ” Where am I? Why’d you guys bring me here? Who the hell are you people?”

Fred took the long whip from Riley and lashed it at Luke without any hesitation. Luke then let out a horrifying scream in the enclosed prison. With each lash that Fred made, it was as if he was venting his anger.

Mya’s hysterical yell, expressing her intense resistance and disgust toward him, echoed in his mind, ‘I don’t like you anymore. I hate you!’

Fred wondered when he had started caring about Mya’s feelings, as she was someone whom he did not consider important.

An hour and a half later, the sky was already bright, and the snow had stopped falling.

When Fred had finished venting, Luke, who was tied to a stake, could no longer make any sound. And his blood was all over the floor. Fred ordered, “Don’t let him die so easily.”

“Okay.”

When Fred left the prison and returned to the villa, a maid suddenly rushed over and said, “Mr. Turner, it’s bad. Ms. Harper is missing.”

Fred remained cold and stern, “Find her then!” As he spoke, he strode into the living room.

He was frowning as he walked in the corridor. When he arrived at the secondary bedroom, the door was still open. In just an hour and a half, Mya’s smell that filled this room had completely dissipated. The room was now only filled with chilling air.

Mya’s words echoed in his mind again, ‘ Fred, I’m hungry.

‘Fred, I want to eat this!

‘Fred, why isn’t your place heated? I’m so cold sleeping at night.’

He thought, ‘Her smile was sweet and innocent. She was never afraid of me. She treated me like an ordinary person.’

Fred looked in another direction. His eyes turned cold again when he saw the corner of the torn picture on the ground. After that, he walked to the master bedroom.

He pondered, ‘When did I start caring about a mere pet’s feelings?! But then again, even if I were just raising a dog, there’d be emotions involved.”

At noon, Fred woke up with clear eyes as if he had foreseen something. When he went downstairs, the maids had already prepared a delicious meal and placed it on the table. However, the spot where Mya usually sat was empty.

Fred’s eyes were cold as he asked, ” Where’s she? Is she still missing?”

A maid immediately knelt before Fred, ” Mr. Turner, she hasn’t returned. We thought she just went out to have some fun. Now, all the other maids have gone to search for her.”

Fred lifted his head to look outside at the snowy landscape. The ground was covered with a thick layer of snow. He was lost in thought, ‘When Mya left in anger, she wasn’t wearing much clothing. If she really left, she wouldn’t be able to run out of this area as this area is enclosed by barbed wire walls.

‘With so many people looking for her, they should’ve found her by now. And why did she care so much about the person in the photo?’

Fred then realized something was wrong. He then walked out of the villa. The maid immediately got up and followed him, “Mr. Turner, you should change your clothes.”

Fred was wearing a sleeping robe. He exuded a cold, imposing aura. After he walked out of the villa, one of his subordinates hurriedly rushed to him, ” Mr. Turner, someone spotted it on the surveillance camera that Ms. Harper exited through a hole in the west corner.

“She wasn’t carrying any communication device, so we can’t track her. She ran out in such terrible weather. She might have already…”

Fred responded, “Expand the search area. Find her for me, even if it’s just her corpse.”

The subordinate replied, “Got it.”

Mya had been missing for ten hours. It was indeed difficult to predict if she was still alive or dead.

Fred had never assembled so many personnel to find someone. For close to twenty years, no one had received such special treatment from him.

Many people wanted to escape from this place. But there was only one possible outcome in the end. Nearly five hundred people searched from all directions to find Mya.

Finally, someone found traces of Mya in one location. Mya was sitting under a tree, hugging her knees in a fetal position. She remained still with a pack of wolves eyeing her. It was just a matter of seconds until….

Suddenly, a gunshot rang through the air, and the wolf pack ran away in all directions.

“Mr. Turner!”

Mya looked behind her and saw Fred, who sat in the front passenger seat, had already left the vehicle at some point. Fred removed his robe and knelt in front of Mya before wrapping her tightly.

He said, “Mya?”

Mya did not respond. When Fred touched her, he could feel her body was stiff and had no warmth at all. Fred was now shirtless and only wearing a pair of long pants. He carried her in his arms and got into the car, ” Turn up the air conditioning and go to the hospital in the city.”

Fred looked grim and distressed as he rubbed Mya’s hands vigorously.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
