The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 915

Zach carried Madelyn back to the room and told one of the maids to get her a new dose of supplements.

Zach placed her on the bed and looked at her, who appeared calm and emotionless. “A wedding dress set will be sent from France in a week. You can try it then. If you’re unsatisfied with it, you can choose another one.”

Madelyn’s reddened eyes were resentful as she said, “Get out!”

After tucking her in, Zach closed the door and went outside. A decorative item fell on the floor with a loud bang, breaking into two pieces.

When everything fell into silence, the sky had already darkened. The sound of flowing water echoed in the bathroom, and the sink was stained with a large patch of blood. Madelyn had tried countless times to remove the ring from her finger. Despite using the scissors and enduring the excruciating pain, Madelyn still could not take the ring off. The area where her fingers were cut was a blurred mess of flesh and blood, revealing white bone at her delicate fingertips.

It seemed like the icy cold water had numbed the pain, and the continuously flowing blood left her face paled and lips white.

Finally, she managed to cut off the ring. As she was about to throw it in the toilet bowl, she felt her body going weak and collapsed to the ground.

Margaret came inside with Dalton, who would not stop crying. When she heard flowing water in the bathroom, Margaret exclaimed, “Oh no. Ms. Jent, Dalton is making a fuss. I’m too old…”

She knocked on the bathroom door, but there was no response from the inside. Sensing something was wrong, she pushed the door open. What she saw shocked her; the floor was covered in blood.

Without any hesitation, she immediately dialed 911.

Coincidentally, Zach was at the company during this time. When he received Margaret’s call, he was in a meeting. The executives reporting to him suddenly fell silent when they saw the change in the CEO’s expression. They immediately lowered

their head; none dared to glance at him. Zach stood up, grabbed his black suit jacket hanging at the back of his chair, and said to Kevin, “Finish the meeting and send the reports to my email.”

“Got it, Mr. Jardin,” Kevin nodded. Seeing Zach leaving hastily, Kevin could not help but think if something bad had happened back in the Jent residence again.

When Zach arrived at the hospital, Madelyn was already lying on the hospital bed with an IV drip in her hand.

Kai was sitting next to her, tending to the wounds on her hand. When Zach saw the unconscious woman on the bed, he immediately blamed Margaret, “I told you to watch over her, and this is how you do it?”

Margaret saw the terrifying look in his eyes and stammered, “The lights in the bedroom were off, so I thought she had fallen asleep. I only went to find Ms. Jent because Dalton wouldn’t stop crying. Nobody expected her to become like this.”

Kai disinfected Madelyn’s wound with a Q-tip, bandaged it up, and said, ” Enough. It’s already happened. What’s the point of blaming the housemaid now? I told you not to provoke her emotions anymore. You should be glad that she was just trying to remove the ring from her finger and not end her own life. You’re too hasty this time.”

Kai took out the exquisite and expensive diamond ring from the pocket of his white coat, “This is what she had been trying to take off.”

In the desolate Ventropolis Prison, snowflakes were falling. Within the confines of a black iron fence was an ancient European castle where Mya was having a feast.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
