The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 912 by Max Charming

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 912

Zach got the Arnold residence, yet he was willing to hand it over to someone else. He did not think that it was a big deal at all.

He already had everything from wealth to status, but none meant anything to him anymore now that he had them.

He knew what he truly desired. He can live without the Arnold residence. In fact, he could even provide her with a better place than Southern Haven Villas.

He felt a sense of belonging with her. It filled the void within him. The photographer took pictures of Dalton in the flower room for his first birthday. It was originally scheduled earlier but got delayed until today.

Dalton wore a fairy-like costume and was sitting in the middle of a pile of flowers. He looked at Madelyn, who was standing behind the photographer, and smiled happily.

Madelyn was holding his favorite yellow duck to keep him entertained. Other than Dalton, there was another person’s gaze who never left her as well throughout the entire shoot.

Zach ashed his cigarette, his gaze darkened, “She doesn’t need to know.”

He abruptly hung up the phone after saying that. Meanwhile, Margaret slapped her thighs happily, “Oh my, this kid will definitely be very popular among the girls. He’s unbelievably handsome.”

Even the photographer’s assistant praised Dalton, “Yeah. This child will surely grow up to be just as attractive as his mother.”

Madelyn pursed her lips and smiled. It was merely a coincidence that Dalton and she looked alike. When they took the last set of photos, the photographer said, “Mrs. Jardin, would you like to take a picture with your child?”

The assistant chimed in, “Yeah, you can hold the handsome boy on your lap. The result will surely turn out to be very beautiful.”

Before Madelyn could respond, Margaret had already brought over a chair. Just as the photographer pressed the shutter, Zach walked in. He had even changed into a suit with a beige shawl on his arm.

“Hello, Mr. Jardin,” The photographer greeted Zach.

Zach nodded in response. The assistant immediately made way for him. When the assistant sensed the photographer’s gaze, he quickly brought over a chair and placed it next to where Madelyn was sitting.

“Mr. Jardin, you arrived just in time. You can take a family portrait with your wife now.”

Madelyn stood up with the child, intending to give up her seat. However, Zach pressed her shoulder and draped the shawl over her. The photographer secretly pressed the shutter at that moment, capturing the beautiful and harmonious scene.

“Why are you wearing so little clothes?”

“I don’t feel very cold,” Madelyn spoke. The photographer had taken pictures of many popular celebrities and had seen countless good-looking people. However, none of them could come close to Madelyn. He just could not find anyone as beautiful as her in the entire Ventropolis.

Zach and Madelyn looked just like the perfect match together. The photographer picked up his camera and said, “Madam, why don’t you sit on the bench with Mr. Jardin? You two are too far apart.”

“It’s okay. This is fine.” Madelyn said. Madelyn thought that they would be together in just one photo. However, the photographer took a dozen more of them together.

When it came to the last one, Zach suddenly lifted her up horizontally and sat down in front of the pile of flowers. Madelyn sat on Zach’s lap while Dalton crawled on the ground while gazing at them, looking extremely adorable.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
