The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 890

“Not long ago, Mya was bullied at The Deli, and the bullies were models that had just signed contracts with us. Just when I was gonna do something about it, those four models just vanished. I ended their contracts,” shared Simon.

“What? Mya was being bullied? Why didn’t you tell me earlier?” asked Grace. Her main concern was Mya. Simon replied, “I didn’t want you to get all stressed out. It’s alright, go get some rest. I’ve got a meeting tomorrow.

Grace was frustrated, but she kept it to herself. She told Simon, “I’ve set up your bath. Take a soak and hit the hay soon.”

“You’re busy?” Simon asked Grace. Grace yawned and said, “I still have to get Mya’s medicine ready. The doctors said she has to keep taking them.”

Simon interrupted, “You can let the maid handle it.”

Grace disagreed, saying, “The medicine is for Mya. I can’t trust just anyone with it. You never know if someone has sneaky plans in the house. Don’t worry about me. Go get some sleep. I’ll be done soon.”

At three in the morning, Mya had a scary dream. She found herself in a creepy forest with monsters that wanted to eat people. A gray wolf was hot on her heels, eager to have her for dinner. No matter how fast Mya ran, she couldn’t get out of the forest. The mist in the woods made it tough to see. When she glanced back, she saw the wolf with its big mouth wide open.

Mya screamed and instantly sat up. Grace heard the commotion just as she was bringing Mya’s medication over. Upon hearing Mya’s screams, Grace rushed into the room and turned on the lights. She saw Mya terrified and covered in sweat.

Grace put the medication aside and comforted Mya, “It’s okay. Don’t cry.” Grace embraced her and wiped her tears. She asked Mya, “You had another nightmare?”

Mya leaned on Grace’s shoulders and replied, “I dreamt of a big gray wolf, and it wanted to eat me. I’m scared, Mom.”

“Don’t worry, Mya. Mommy’s here,” Mya reassured Mya. She took the medication and said to Mya, “I’ve brought some honey to help you with consuming the medication. You won’t have any nightmares after you eat it.”

“Do you need me to feed you?” Grace joked.

Mya held the medication in hand. She despised it, yet she had no choice but to eat it. If Mya did not take her medication, her mother would be worried. Besides that, Madelyn would be disgusted with her stupidity if she did not eat it.

Mya closed her eyes and gulped it down. After finishing it, she told Grace, “I’ve finished, mom.”

Grace rubbed her head in encouragement, “Sleep then. I’ll leave once you’ve fallen asleep.”

Mya laid down and closed her eyes before saying, “I’m already asleep, mom. Get to sleep soon.”

“Alright, “Grace said as she watched her daughter fall asleep. After that, she shut the door lightly. To Grace, Mya was always slightly slow and learned everything somewhat slower than others.

After Mya took her medication, she did not have any more nightmares. She had a good sleep.

Outside the Harper residence, there was a parked black off-road vehicle. Fed sat in the backseat. The scar on his face made him look more menacing. His lips were tightened while his gaze greedily stared at the second floor.

At the same time, a wind blew around the house. The sound of the winds was like howling ghosts. Fred stood outside their home. After pressing his fingerprint on the scanner, he opened the Harper residence gates.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
