The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 865

“The woman you’re with now is the one I’m sick of playing with. Are you interested in getting another one? “Zach said.

Cecilia felt deeply humiliated by him and felt like her heart had been stabbed. However, she could not find the words to say as she watched him walk away coldly!

Kevin had been waiting outside. When he saw Zach coming out, he immediately followed him, asking, “Is Fred interested in Ms. Jent?”

Fred had always been a playboy and would do anything to get the woman he wanted.

Zach’s face darkened as he strode out of Nightfall, “No one is allowed near the Jent residence without my permission.”

“Ms. Harper is the only person who normally goes to the Jent residence. Should I…”

Zach glared at Kevin, “I don’t want any threats.”

“Understood, Mr. Jardin.” Kevin nodded.

Cecilia was now Fred’s girlfriend. When he finally got bored of her and gave her back to Zach, Kevin figured that she would definitely have a hard time.

Fred changed his girlfriend almost every two weeks.

So, Kevin thought that he might have already lost interest in Cecilia since he had asked about Madelyn.

In recent days, Zach rarely returned to Southern Haven Villas. There were even rumors circulating in major newspapers about him having an intimate relationship with some celebrity.

From celebrities to models and even students, there had been many women around him in the past month.

In the early morning, Madelyn fed Dalton while sitting on the sofa. She thought about it and realized that Dalton had turned one year old.

The maids were preparing for Dalton’s birthday celebration and even cooked a table full of food.

After feeding Dalton, Madelyn decided to take him out for a walk because of the good weather outside. The maids were tending to the plants and chatting in the garden, unaware of the person standing behind them.

“Hey, Mr. Jardin hasn’t come back for a month now. Do you think he’s having an affair?”

“It’s hard to say. Dalton is turning one year old, and New Year’s is approaching. Yet, we haven’t seen him come back once.”

“I wonder if what’s written in the newspaper is true…”

Madelyn turned around emotionlessly. However, Dalton suddenly shouted, startling the chatting maids, “M

Mrs. Jardin…”

Madelyn ignored them and walked to the house’s foyer, where she saw a newspaper on the table. At a glance, she saw the familiar Rolls-Royce on the front page, and a woman dressed provocatively with wavy hair sat in the passenger seat. The car stopped at a traffic light, and their faces were captured clearly.

The lady in the photo was currently the most popular celebrity in Novac. Her posters were plastered all over the streets. Even the maids would talk about her from time to time.

However, when Madelyn heard and read these rumors about him, she felt nothing.

One of the maids saw Madelyn staring at the newspaper and immediately put it away, “M-Mrs. Jardin, they’re just making things up. Please ignore them. I’m sure that Mr. Jardin still cares a lot about you.

“Actually, he…”

Before the maid could finish talking, Madelyn turned around and went upstairs.

What he wanted to do never had anything to do with her anyway.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
