The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 813

“I… I’m sorry. Today wasn’t the right time for me to come. About Andrew’s situation, I’ll come back another time if it’s inconvenient for you today.”

Lana waited for him in the office all day. If she stayed any longer, she would only be humiliating herself. She did not want to embarrass herself too much.

Lana picked up her bag from the sofa and was about to leave when Kai suddenly grabbed her wrist. Then, he lifted her off the ground.

“Put me down!” Lana said as she struggled. Kai ignored her struggles and went directly into the lounge, throwing her onto the bed and pressing down on her. He grabbed her hands and held them above her head, “Can’t I criticize you? When I told you to piss off, why didn’t I see you leave?”

With one hand, Kai tore her underwear apart. He then unzipped his pants before spreading her legs.

“No… please don’t!”

Kai was too frustrated to listen to any of her words and just thrust in aggressively.

In less than half an hour, Kai panted as he got off Lana, who was still sobbing softly. He pulled out a few tissues to clean up, “Sleep here tonight, and I’ll take you back tomorrow.”

The swelling sensation in her nether regions had not disappeared yet. She put on her clothes, sat up, and said, ” It’s okay, I drove here today.”

Lana’s legs felt weak, and she could barely stand.

“Do you think Andrew doesn’t know about us?”

Lana stood still, completely stunned. She turned to look at him, “W-Was it you who told him?”

Kai sneered, “I’m not that lifeless. I just guessed it.” Kai wanted to say something else, but he changed his mind.

“If you want to go back looking like a wreck, I won’t stop you.”

Lana looked down, feeling uncomfortable with the stickiness between her legs. Her torn underwear was next to her heels, and she quickly picked it up and threw it in the trash.

He did not put on a condom, so everything went inside. “I need to use the bathroom to clean myself up,” she said.

Lana saw herself in the mirror and finally understood the meaning behind Kai’s words. No wonder he asked her to stay. She could not be seen like this.

There were several marks that he left on her neck. Her top even had a huge tear over her shoulder. He was just ruthless. Lana had just taken off her top when the bathroom door suddenly opened.

Kai was emotionless when he watched her panicking, trying to cover her chest. He then handed her a clean bathrobe and her phone, saying, “You had a call; I rejected it for you. You can return the call yourself.”

Lana was in a light blue laced bra when she hugged her chest with her fair arms. She looked scared and did not dare to gaze at him. She turned around, and her long hair covered her back, though her slim waist was revealed. Little did she know that this appearance was the most enticing to Kai.

“Just leave them there.”

Kai put her stuff down and left. Lana watched him leave, feeling lost and somewhat lucid. She had no idea why she was feeling these complex and conflicting emotions.

Could it be that she had developed feelings for the man who had assaulted her?

‘Impossible,’ Lana thought. She had received a high education. Plus, her parents were both intellectuals, so she had always held on to traditional values.

If it were not for Andrew, she would not have repeatedly done that with him. She could not possibly have any feelings for him.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
